Exactly. Just some imaginary BS that has no relevance what so ever. We'd all like that. The likelihood, almost 0%. Reality, most would rather see Live with a new singer.

Ed and Chad T. were working together on LIVE's post SFBM songs. I believe if the band got back together, there would be some level of working together on their new music.

Yeah one of them was Believe. We know what happened to that once it was redone from scratch with a total collaboration (Honest Man). The lyrics put to the CT riffs were simply putrid.

Together? How do you know that? Like OTD said, Believe smacked of Ed penning some cheesy lyrics to the collaboration of the other 3.

Don't worry guys, Nick is just upset that he's not getting what he wants (Ed touring with CCP would increase his bank account even more than solo), and we are getting what we want (more quality music from CCP). Simple, sour grapes smile.gif

I think Nick is a little fearful too. With or without new Live, Ed is already tarnishing his legacy with every song and show he does. His music resembles nothing of what Live was. Even when Ed sings old Live songs they resemble nothing of what Live was. TGF, on the other hand, had a little bit of Live in it. At least more Live in it than anything Ed is doing.

If new Live is even remotely good it will further damage the "Live isn't Live without Ed" idea even more.

If CCP go back to back with TGF and then an equally good album with new Live and Ed keeps spitting out Alive 2, 3 and 4 it will be obvious to anyone and everyone that the idea of Ed being the "driving force" behind Live is completely silly.

Can you imagine what would have been done to Believe/Honest Man if Jim Wirt had gotten a hold of it? I shudder to think.

Cool, dude. That's like the 700th time someone has quoted me. And, you're still arguing this a month later? Um, maybe you need a new hobby? Just sayin...

Honest Man ended up the better song, but "Believe" was the best newish-Live song to have had been created in a long time. Had they ever recorded it I think many here would have liked it and maybe even been a tad optimistic about their direction. It was probably, in my opinion at least, a step for the better because CT clearly had some influence on the song. Even though it probably didn't end up where he wanted it, he had some input, which made it better than anything on SFBM.

Here is what more than likely happened with Believe, based on what was said around the time it came out:

-CT, PD, and CG record a demo of this rock track
-They send the demo to Ed who writes his lyrics and melody
-Band actually plays the song together in a room once or twice, then plays it live

If that sounds like collaboration to you then you don't know much about how actual bands write, and yes you hear that distinction really clearly in Believe and Honest Man.

Probably, but considering the crap we were used to hearing that isn't saying much.

It was an attempt at trying to collaborate on the song. They probably only practiced it in soundchecks. Ed traveled separate from C&C&P and I'd say they didn't practice as the 4 for a long time.

I think several people have made the argument in some form or another that Ed was the main reason Live was a success, before and after you did.

Things like Live isn't Live without Ed or Ed was the driving force and a dozen other variations.

Don't flatter yourself. This board is full of rehashed arguments.

Really? If there are several people here defending Ed, then why did you post this:

it will be obvious to anyone and everyone that the idea of Ed being the "driving force" behind Live is completely silly.

Dude, you're just blowing smoke out of your ass. Your arguments are pointless.

Really? The only poster I see who continually defends Ed is Nick. Anyone else who does is blasted off the board.

And, if there are several people here that made that argument, then why did you post this: it will be obvious to anyone and everyone that the idea of Ed being the "driving force" behind Live is completely silly.

Blowing smoke? How about you quote my ENTIRE statement because you left off half of it. Here, I will do it for you.

Also, there are several that have sided with Ed. Nick, Live4Life, bri or bre (can't remember) and maybe a couple I have forgotten. Oh, and you. So, there you go. Not to mention the VERY POLL THAT STARTED THIS THREAD HAS 4 VOTES not including Nick because he accidentally voted for yes. So, again, several.

Also, you contradicted yourself by saying anyone who sides with Ed is blasted off the board and then questioning me saying "several".

You fail.
