I heard Chris Cornell perform imagine on Howard Stern a few weeks ago. It was pretty darn moving to me over the radio. Maybe Ed is jealous that Chris can perform imagine better than he can.

I honestly heard the same performance, and it was what stopped me from buying tickets to his concert at the Count Basie in Red Bank, NJ. The song sounded fine enough, but I believe I would have found 2.5 hours of Chris Cornell solo a bit on the dull side.

For some reason, tweets can't be removed.
Not entirely true. Your own tweets can be deleted. Of course if one of your followers has retweeted your message then you're unable to delete the retweet.

I think that is just rude.

I can not imagine an American Idol thing with EdKo being the judge and Cornell trying to pass to the next round

You have to acknowledge a higher power everytime you sing/write a song?

The guy has absolutely lost it. He has become everything that I don't like about religion. When you realize where he is right now religiously, you can understand that he will never go back to Live and will never go back to any other type of musical content. Because he feels that everything in life is "through the lord" or "because of the lord," then everything he writes about must reflect through "him". Therefore, he can't even understand writing a song that does not acknowledge God.

If that's what he wants to do with his life, good for him. But, his Cornell comments upset me because it as if he is failing to acknowledge any other human feeling than pure joy, or pure unadultered faith. It is as if despair does not exist anymore because he is so religious. I don't respect that not because of the belief itself, but because it shuns all true human experience.

You just summed up perfectly my biggest problem with organized religions and their followers, especially Christianity. They are taught to accept all people, but instead they seem to be the ones that look down on others that are different the most. It infuriates me.

Ego, plus the need to push religion is even a more isolated soul than ego alone.

Here is his tweet that I think is still on his twitter feed:

(Ed K.) I just watched Chris Cornell. It didn't touch me in my special place. But then again, only I do that. Lol :-)

I think that is just rude.

Jeez, were all these posts on Twitter and FB at the same time? He's being such a dork. I guess he didn't like Cornell. I wonder what Tom would think about Ed putting down Chris.

i just checked out some vids, hes still got a really good voice. i think he'd top ed's cover of the song these days.....though i'd say the first Live cover of imagine that made it to the community in '99 tops any of Chris' covers.

Exactly. This was a rare opportunity for the public to see an honest reflection of the inner dickhead that is Ed.

As a lead singer with fans and followers, I think it is different if Ed leaves a show and says "Eh,I wasn't moved or touched" than if some fan says he didn't like the show.

I'm serious, I think this was my last straw with Ed.
