Wrong, I like some of Ed's new stuff. Its nowhere near as good as old Live but its still ok. TGF is about the same for me.

Ye, unsurprising to the majority of us here. But what I would like to know is how can people honestly say that Ed on Alive sounds like '90's Ed'?

It's only because on one single song of the album (Grace) Ed put on a little, little but angrier voice then on SFBM (the only work people compare it with, appearently), and so yeah, ofcourse... uhoh.gif

Good old 90ies Ed is back, we waited for it for years, but yes, it's back. Praise teh Lord!

Yeah the fact that you can hear his smile when he sings Top means he sounds nothing like 90s Ed. He uses words like urgency and passionate as to describe how it sounds like his 90s voice. I think once he can describe it as intense and aggressive is when he can truthfully make that claim. But hey that was his most successful era so why not keep brainwashing people like Nick into believing it to be true.

Nick, we all know that isn't going to happen. There isn't anyone around here who really cares for his new releases. The only thing related to Live that is interesting anymore is TGF, unless it's about Ed getting sued.

so, as i have been asked, why are you in a ed thread? also, i assure you i am not nick

I think it would be almost comical to see Ed do some renditions of older Live songs now with the massive cheesey grin smile singing. Imagine Freaks or TBD sung with a huge smile.

"White Discussion is a song about revelations in the bible. it's about how God can give but he can also take. The line 'look where all this talking got us baby' is implying that if we prayed instead of talked, then we might not be in this mess" - Ed Kowalczyk.

"Remy has really brought another dimension to White, Discussion. I felt the song was stale to perform after so long, but his drumming just breaths new life into this track live. It rocks man!" - Ed Kowalczyk.

"I never really know what to do in this part of the song, when we recorded in the studio, this is where I stepped outside to smoke a joint say a couple of quiet prayers" - Ed Kowalczyk

At least check back in 18 months and he'll probably have said the above hehe.gif

The complacent grin almost makes the songs more twisted and dark in a way

I had to track down the video of Top. That was hilarious.

I'll give Ed's new album a try. If it sounds different from Alive in any way then I'll be impressed.
