I guess as long as km sings like shit, they sell tickets for 10 bucks because no one comes, and the tour stiffed i will continue to make fun of km and tgf. i

btw, i think the shit ed sells is stupid as hell but i dont understand why it needs to be brought up every 3 posts. i gets shit so off topic constantly. i came to this board everyday for years. i only starting posting because of the annoying redundancy. pendant, coffee, phone call are all terrible. we agree. lets move on. ill go back to shutting the fuck up and reading your posts if we can move past the constant ridicule of ed on the same 3 topics. still like some of his new shit (nothing compared to live of old) and the old shit and i love ccp.

As I mentioned, when Ed is out there playing the good guy, many of us believe he's far from a good guy and doesn't deserve any of the praise he gets. That is why it keeps getting brought up without moving on, because the situation isn't dead yet, so why should the jokes/comments? He makes himself a pretty easy target. I'd love for him to turn shit around and prove me wrong, but looks like he aint doing that.
What's to go off topic for? The only topics now seem to be Ed turning up at a radio station and playing lightning crashes. Stop the presses! Sucks if a thread like that goes off topic because it really could have become a fantastic round table discussion!

Keep making fun of KM singing "shit", I agree that some recordings he's sounded pretty off, but for the most part I think he's great. He has a voice that I think you either love or hate. There are aspects of his voice I am not crazy over, Guilty Fever for example. But I dig it more than Ed's currently. Although Ed's has improved again, he still pussies up all his former amazing songs. I can hear his massive big cheesey smile when he sings Selling The Drama.
But yeah, keep on keeping on if that's what you wanna do. Although doing it out of spite for others will get older quicker than doing it out of spite of the person you're directing it at. I'm sure you'll get sick of it before we do.

Not to have a go at you here bud, but this response always perplexed me. When someone critiques something that someone does doesn't always mean they can do better, but it doesn't change the original statement.

I can call Jay Neagle a complete waste of space on the Essendon playing list and say he's a shit footballer (cos I know everyone will know what I'm talking about here, but bare with me). There is no way in hell I could play better than him though. But, that doesn't mean I can't identify that for the level that he's supposed to hang with, that he isn't terrible.

I mean, I don't agree that KM sings like shit. He's really won me over for the most part in so many ways. When he's on song, he's amazing. But there shouldn't be a prerequisit to be better than him before you can criticise them.

E. I always stood by the point that a man can critisize smth IF he has hands-on in this sphere. For example, if you are playing a guitar, you can say more than "I like-dislike it". If not... Why the fuck have a go at a person in HIS professional sphere while you have no fucking insight on the subject except for your own TASTE?

That's my point you see

I don't really agree with that. Take a food critique for example. They don't have to be a chef to successfully judge what a great meal should taste like. If they get served up a terrible meal they don't need to be able to cook a better meal than it to say that it's shit.

Using your example, Fred Durst is a SHIT guitar player. Honestly, check it out if you haven't on youtube. And I don't think someone should have to be a guitarist to say that.
The advantage as you say of being in their professional sphere may be that you can give a more insightful and complex critique, which I agree does hold more weight. But it shouldn't be a prerequisit to critique.

Again, I don't agree with this particular scenario. I don't think KM is a shit singer, not at all. But the "can you do better?" I feel is always a bit of a cheap cop-out response.
I'd have instead asked "why do you think KM is a shit singer?" and fleshed it out a bit and seen what he says. If it boils down to just personal opinion, then hey let him have it. But if he comes up with some interesting or discussion worthy points that can create some discussion the dive in further. Whether he can personally sing better than KM or not, shouldn't matter. It's not a respect thing.

So to my point, I can say that there are notes that Ed should not reach for because he just can't and should not sing that way and it makes him sound shit. Just because Ed could sing me under the table any day of the week doesn't mean I'm wrong about Ed's capabilities, I have ears with which to assess that on.

Personally I'd like to see why Bri thinks KM is shit, because as I say, I don't agree.

Agree.

As far as the stick figures for $200. As a visual artist (and I'm not that good either) that is a slap to the face. Sure art is subjective blah blah blah. But to sell such obviously amateur simple 10 second scribbles for that price is bullshit.
And I will not agree with the whole "its genius cause it's simple" or something shit like that. It's cheap ass crap that any one without drawing talent can do. Like a 5 year old.
Except Ed puts his name on it and thinks it should be worth more just cause he is/was a successful musician. Now if he showed some art that actually took talent, I'll take back all I've said.

I'll state for the record that Kevin had some vocal cord issues and being under the weather on the final leg of the US tour. Doctor told him to not sing. He chose to Sing!!!

Ed lover(s) need to give it a rest already. There is no defending the guy and there's no reason to go after TGF.

Also, credit to Briburge who is clearly the only Ed lover around here, to taking this thread about Ed and completely ruining it!

I always thought a big part of selling art was the amount of time/effort that went into a drawing or painting. Something time consuming that the artist puts hours and hours of work into can fetch a hefty price. How long would it have taken Ed to draw that stick figure? about a 1 minute 20 seconds? That's a hell of a lot of confidence in yourself that under 2mins of your time is worth $200!
I remember a photo he took of a hall way in his house or something with the floor lined with prints of these drawings. I wonder how many of all of those he actually sold.

That is exactly how I feel about the worth of art (mine or others) How much time and effort went into making it. Well that and it should be somewhat good lol. You can draw/paint/sculpt for days but it could still come out a piece of shit. Happened plenty times to me.

People are plain stupid if they think KM sings like shit. They can personally dislike the sound of it, but you simply cannot deny that he has a sick(!!!) voice. It's just a fact. So deal with it, or kindly fuck off. smile.gif

Nick, we all know that isn't going to happen. There isn't anyone around here who really cares for his new releases. The only thing related to Live that is interesting anymore is TGF, unless it's about Ed getting sued.
