He better be inspired, he's a solo artist surrounded with a bunch of yes men. He couldn't handle the dynamics of a band in the truest sense. He wanted to be the sole creative force and he got that. Personally, I don't think he's good enough to pull that off. Not many are. He needs to be surrounded by creative, confident musicians who have their own individuality and inspirations. Like what he had. Once he silenced that, he exposed his weaknesses as a musician. Many bands have ridden the wave of creative tension and recorded some of their best works. Rather than try to squelch it, Ed should have reveled in it. I think the other guys would have embraced that. Someone like Jerry Harrison sure would have and I think the output could have been great, even if it was hell to accomplish.
