I still think - http://www.blackbearheaven.com/world-record-grizzly-bear.htm is the biggest. theres been exagerations that it was 12 feet and 1600lbs, but apparently it was still actually 10feet and between 1000 - 1200lbs ... that's a hell of a lot of bear!

I went with the Seattle show. With CB being from there, there's got to be a energized crowd there & KM will be pumped to be there too.

The Seattle show will be a great show to purchase! The Showbox is an awesome venue with great energy and sound. And yes, KM has his entire family and a core group of friends here in Seattle. Also, you never know, with Pete, Scotty and Bardi from CB being from Seattle, there could be a little something spontaneous in the encore. Please don't take this as any suggestion that I have inside info on anything happening because I don't - not even one mention. I just know special things can tend to happen at hometown shows if the vibe is right. We'll have to wait and see. Either way, this will be a great show to own.

The Candlebox - Alive in Seattle DVD was also shot at the Showbox for those of you who have it or have seen footage from it on youtube.

I don't want to make enemies here, but I think that anyone who trades these recordings that have been commercially produced and sold, or conspires to do it, is a dick. This band, that everyone supposedly loves, has arranged at their own expense to have their shows professionally recorded, mixed, packaged, distributed and sold so they can make a little money for their signifancant efforts. It was probably done as a grant to requests from fans. I don't think they are making much money from the modest cd sales of this album or the $10 tickets at venues with 150 people in them. Heck, when they reduced ticket prices from $20 to $10, they gave away a free T-shirt and personally autographed poster to everyone who bought a ticket for $20. They're are 5 members in the band. They are touring around the country and to Europe. They have a tour bus, tour crew, tour manager. I know they love this and they are having a good time, but what does everyone think the economics of this look like? I am guessing that they aren't pocketing much for all of this time and effort and trips away from their families. I for one, wish to support a band that has given me so much excitement and enjoyment. I am going to buy as many of these concert recordings as I can, and I'm not going to take a free download from anybody. Besides the fact that it is illegal, it is also direspectful to the band and, in my opinion, a dick-move to steal these recording or illegally distribute them for free. Do you think that they want to go to all the trouble of putting these cd's out into the market place so that their own hard-core fans can each buy one and them swap the rest for free? They obviously want to sell these. I wouldn't steal from my worst enemy, let alone my favorite band that I love and admire.

Now I'm off my soap box. Please feel free to take reputation points away from me for offending everyone.

I totally disagree. They are offering 8 different recordings at $20 each. They will all pretty much be the same show. I truely don't believe or expect any person to purchase each.

If you purchase one I feel that it's totally reasonable to trade your purchase.

I would too...if money wasn't such an issue, there are more important things in life to buy than as much tgf stuff as you can handle though.

+Ed+, I can't stand it. Tell me which show you want and I'll shout you. Might take me awhile to get it delivered to Australia and then for you to receive from Australia but it will be my Christmas love for the year wink.gif

Oh jayda, thanks a lot, I really do appreciate it very much. But do not worry, I will do my best to get ahold of them.

Thanks again. The TGF world is full of wonderful people, I know that!

My offer stands in any case, just pm your address and I'm happy to do it...I realised I could just put your shipping address in and skip having it sent to Australia anyway!

That's good to know, thanks...I'll be buying at least 2 of these shows to show my support. Maybe I should post that on my facebook page to prove how big of a fan I am? uhoh.gif

Anyhow, I don't think that getting a burned copy is so bad. Especially for younger people and others who can't afford it. People like Eamon who genuinely love this band, I know deep down will support them no matter what.

What bothers me is the people who CAN afford it quite easily, who still see fit to take whatever they want without a second thought towards it. I will buy a few shows and if a friend who wants to check them out wants a copy? For sure. But I won't reproduce 50 copies to hand them out to anybody who wants one for the fuck of it.

But I certainly can respect and understand where both sides are coming from in this debate.

QUOTE(Aitkens @ Nov 24 2010, 11:45 pm) *

You're sad, on so many levels. You know how at first you'll laugh at someone, then at some point you start feeling bad for laughing at them? Yeah, that's how I feel about you. At first, it was funny. Now I feel bad for you. I really do, you're grasping at straws at this point, in search of attention and affection. Comparing me to Nick has really gone off the deep end. You'll never get it though, you'll just respond back with more swearing, more insults, and further make yourself look like a complete asshole.

Ok Nick. As much as it seems an insult, you honestly do remind me of him in almost every way. I don't need to respond with any kind of swearing or verbal attack, that's just my way of letting you know I think you're a complete douche.

As badly as you feel for me, I feel ten times worse for you. I don't feel sorry for you though, as people like you actually can help yourself, but choose not to. Instead, you choose to be a complete tool who follows along like a lost puppy and that is really what's sad in todays society. Too many people like you who can't think for themselves and choose to be a follower.

You can call it a search for attention and affection all you want in your attempt to feel justified and somehow superior. I truly don't mind that. Reason being is that I know with one hundred percent certainty that the attention or affection of anybody over the internet is completely irrelevant to me. I need your attention as much as I need a knife lodged on my back on a permanent basis. So if you want to talk about grasping at straws little man?? You couldn't have come any closer with that assertion.

I simply enjopy getting the goat, so to speak, of insignificant, unintelligent little jackassses like you who respond in such a way after two little spoken words. You make it way too easy and you proved my point faster than anyone in history. So thanks for feeling sorry for me, it really does mean a lot to me. But again, I don't at all fell sorry for you, just anyone who knows you. Good luck buddy.

Like I said in my post Ed, let me know which shows you get from others. I'll gladly get you one of the ones I get. I know you support this band in every way possible and in the end, that's all that really matters.

As much as I enjoy listening to audience recordings (and some are quite exquisite), I can't pass up the opportunity to hear a professional recording. I'll definitely be picking up a couple of shows.

Hopefully the band has been working on some new covers to help keep things interesting. thumbsup.gif

Definitely, I just hope that the guys doing this recording for them do a good job. I recently got a recording of Royal Crown Revue for a show they did in Melbourne a couple of years ago, and like this it was an "outsourced" job and it wasn't bad, but I've heard bootlegs better than it. I've already got a Pixies show from these guys on the way so hopefully that's good too ... I'm guessing even though the setlist will be the same for each show, that each show will sound different in it's recording. Being that they're doing it on the fly and each setting will be different, it'll be interesting to hear how different they are.

Sorry, Fish. I do not have a credit card, I do not have an iPhone and I hate my country, but that does not mean I am happy without my TGF.

D - I PROMISE I will mail your TGF CD (personally signed by the guys) this week. Between US and Russian postal systems, you might get it by summer tongue.gif .

Sorry its taken so long.
