GO HERE

Little clip of Chad... interesting comments. Definite swipes at Ed.

The swipes at Ed were funny but the sunglasses seem goofy

When I saw this vid, it just gave me goosebumps cool.gif , and his singing skills aren't to bad, I just think he needs a better mic for a chat like this. lol.gif

And the little quote: "not selling us coffee or phone calls" was a little pick, and I guess he is right to say so...after all what has happend!!!

I appreciate the "not selling coffee and phone calls" bit, but I also got another reminder of the "Mom & Dad are fighting!" feeling. It still feels like a divorce between my parents, which sounds silly in a way but I saw others agreeing with that sentiment on FB comments.

The "We're not trying to sell you our good looks" line interested me. I have long thought Ed was good-looking and I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy when the lad ripped his shirt off at the end of a gig in Austin in 2006, but I had never considered if there was tension on any level in the band among Ed getting attention for his looks.

Having come to know Chad Taylor via FB (as much as that is possible), I've also come to find the man attractive in his own right (despite the Elvis after a couple of martinis look in this new video thumbsup.gif ).

I'm new here (*points to newbie status*) so don't yell at me if this has already been covered somewhere, but has anyone on these boards or someone they know ever had the coveted "brief" phone call with Ed? I asked on his FB page for someone to define "brief" but didn't get an answer.

Ed did call somebody in South Africa recently. It's not clear if it was a part of his Level 4 SOF membership thing though... You can read more about it here:

Thanks, dangum.

Does Ed's FB Admin post on these boards? I'm thinking I read that last night but I read through so much that my memory is jumbled. Who is the Live FB Admin? Is Chad Taylor TGF Admin? Sorry for all the questions. I'm trying to get a handle on who is who (or is it "who is whom"?) and learning new user names and stories takes awhile.

If you want that info, you'll have to pay!!! lol.gif

It was revealed to my last night that mr edko admin, Nick....deletes posts on Ed's facebook page. I had a conversation with one of my FB friends who give's Ed props but also gave a shout out to TGF on Ed's page. Post deleted. This person said Nick did it a few times. Not surprising for me to hear this garbage. The posts were not made to belittle ed in anyway too.

I haven't deleted a post on Ed's Facebook in quite some time to be honest. I have in the past though when the post's main purpose was to flame.

*taking notes on who's an Admin, who's been banned, who's naughty, who's nice*

OutToDry, thanks for the info.

SJN, I ask this with respect: is Ed going to publicly comment on the break-up of Live and his role in it? What little I've seen has been about how excited he was to leave the band and how everything is fine, nothing to look at here.

It may not be his intention, but it comes across to me as pretending 25 or so years never happened. I can't speak for others but for me it feels somewhat insulting. I spent 16 years in love with this band and travelled out-of-town to see them, and it bugs me to see his non-reaction, as if there's no need to give honest answers to his fans. I would love to see an in-depth "The Rolling Stone Interview" type commentary from him so people could know better what he's thinking.

I understand you can point out that he doesn't want to get into that, but on the other hand he's asking us on FB to call/email all these radio stations on his behalf, including Christian ones (which may or may not be kosher, pun intended, as far as a comfort level goes with a lot of his fans). We're asked to buy his album, which a lot of us did (me included, was very excited to get it), but what about setting some things straight? Live and their fans were always a family of sorts, and the consensus seems to be that we deserve better.

Chelsea, he's not going to comment at the moment. See the Big Ed Bootlegs thread and you'll get everything you want to know. I've waned on what Ed's been selling for 10 years.

Bands break up. It really isn't the business of fans to know the exact reason as to why it happened. Also, all 4 members are currently involved in a lawsuit, therefore commenting on details in a public forum is huge mistake.

Fans are asked to call radio stations and help promote, but no one is forcing anyone to do anything. It is all personal choice, and no one is owed anything in my opinion.

If I followed a band for 20 years, it sure is my business to want to know, if I put my time and energy and my hard earned money purchasing their art and seeing their shows. If they suddenly break up after that long a time, while professing their freindship was the main reason for the longevity, I and many others sharing my opinion want to know. Again we can all agree to disagree on this. Nick, it's public record.

When the breakup was first announced, Ed Tweeted by saying the comments about him were entirely untrue. There is an interview on the board where Ed was questioned about some of the complaints from the band, and he answers by saying these complaints were a mischaracterization. The Summons and Answer make all sorts of legal assertions but we don't know the exact situation. The consensus here consists of a small group of regular posters. You'll see the majority talking about how much they dislike Ed. This sentiment is carried by these posters in regards to topics such as Ed making an ultimatum to leave the band if he doesn't receive more royalties, not allowing the band to participate more, not taking a better musical direction, not being honest in interviews about new music, selling products not related to the music, requesting a lead singer bonus, etc. Adversely, the minority of this small group may hold that they are not completely decided about Ed's character, or do not besmirch Ed, or are still totally a fan of Ed. We don't know if Ed is going to make any more public comments about his role in the breakup aside from the claim that he felt that he lost interest in Live due to being repetitive, and discovered that he wanted to do something "new." Any specific details about the breakup are a courtesy to the fans, but are unfortunately only unproven claims of E,C,C,P and not necessarily the truth.
