So, my wife and I are throwing this 4th of July party tomorrow and were doing some late-spring cleaning. We put it off, because well, during the spring we had our first kid, Ethan Alexander Bishop.

During the pregnancy he was always responsive to music, I'm a big theater geek and have built a theater (any other theater geeks can see it on my site www.scubasaid.com) in my home that has a very good sound setup. Whenever we would watch a movie and music was playing (one notable memory is MJ's "This is it") he would dance in the womb.

This afternoon while cleaning, I was showing my wife "Alive" and in doing so I also had her listen to "Honest Man" and "Trecedim(sp)". My son was relatively responsive during Drive, then as Great Beyond came on he literally started to frown and whimper. I then put on "Honest Man" and he stopped. This is not an exaggeration of any sort. He sat in his bassinet all through "Honest Man" and "Trecedim" and kicked, moved his arms and overall was active and smiling. Afterwhich I went back to "Alive" on "Drink" and my son started to frown and then cried.

So there you have it, a pure response from a musically untainted unbiased reviewer. "Alive" fails to move a 2-month old, how can it move a grown ass adult?
