Thanks for getting these up ... fuck they're amazing! I enjoyed these 2 more than Ed's album is a whole.

Like others said, digging the bluesy sound a lot here! See this is pretty cool, you listen to Honest Man normally and you can hear blues influences but you'd certainly not call it a blues song. But it's so cool how they've almost got 2 completely different songs out of one ... that's creative and interesting!

Awesome performances - Kevin Martin has got some serious pipes.

This is what CT had instore for us musically...wow!

Again I'm with pokey the rearrangement makes the whole thing interesting and fresh not trying to replicate a studio sound is something I appreciate, very cool - u can tell the guys love playing the songs.

Someone uploaded video to Youtube of some of the WRXP show at Webster Hall. Only has 3 of the songs, Appetite, Tredecim, and Guilty Fever.

Sigh, excuse the edits. I've been up for quite some time and the coffee has not yet released its sweet caffeine into my system.

OMG, I think that Pat is talking to Gracey during Guilty Fever! This is becoming a problem!

I can't go a day without listening to something from TGF. Thank god we now have so much diversity to listen to. For a while it was the 3 track sampler I made. The myspace Honest Man rip, Tredecim, and the stolen Russian Appetite work track.

Now we've got videos, the York Bootleg, and these various acoustic performances.

It is great having heard not only so many songs, but so many variations of the songs, from the raw recordings, to the acoustics, to the live performances, to the studio versions.

It simply does not get old.

The acoustic versions are way better than the studio versions. You can actually hear the lyrics and Kevin doesn't strain trying to compete with the music.

Nick, yes you can easily hear the lyrics but to say the songs are better are subjectively debatable. I think the bluesy versions go to show you the range and dynamic of what a rock song can do. I love both versions....so you get 4 different songs with different arrangements. Saying Kevin is competing with the music on the studio versions is really wrong man.....but there is no pleasing you is there. I refrain from commenting on Alive and you still like to come here to take your daily constitutional.

I actually thought the acoustic versions weren't bad(Honest Man being the better of the two). This was first thing I didn't completely hate about TGF, progress! smile.gif

I just can't believe you find it so hard to understand Kevin's singing on the album tracks. It's not THAT hard dude, I could get all the lyrics on the first listen. God know how you'd handle listening to a Mr Bungle or Melvins track, your head would probably explode ... those are bands that sing in English yet do your head in trying to work out what the hell is being said (and it's awesome hehe.gif )

He is very hard to understand, but so were most 70's bands that he patterned himself on. The only lyric I liked from Honest Man was about Confucious, but it turned out to be confusion. So that was a bummer.
