Honest Man is worse, and I wasn't even a fan of Believe. The screeching vocals are unbearable and it is almost impossible to decipher the lyrics.

The lyrics were posted here by Mr Kevin Martin himself after I gave it a close go.

Honest man is not worse, only worse to you becasue you do not like this type of music which is fine by me.

It has to be something written from a while ago.....They weren't allowed to write past 2005. Ad Nauseum

I thought Purifier was a ripoff of that song they covered post 2005, God something something.

I have no clue when those other two times were, but the first time in this thread wasn't in reference to anything that you said.

I'm the one who brought up the arguments about Ed's voice. You were talking directly to that. And you didn't seem to understand it.

Ok fair enough. I felt cheated by Ed's hijacking of the band and SFBM record. It's a subjective statement which I hold as an opinion. It's always been my opinion and many can choose to have their own opinion on this. Some may feel the same way or not.

So you contend the Band was Ed and Ed alone? Lets see Ed sing w/o those 3 talented folks co writing and playing..oh yeah this is happening now. I think you place way too much of Live's success on one person.....It was the dynamic of the 4. And the business slant on Ed being favored.... This is why Mr Levin is going to get his ass railed for breaking fiduciary trust & fabricating the mil advance and taking sides against his sworn duties.

No, it was not Ed alone. It was mostly Ed.

Bringing up Ed's new band does not serve you because you're talking about two different eras. CCP are great, but Ed was what brought them into the stratosphere. Hopefully we will have intimate knowledge about the outcome of the bitter ass railing that you speak of.

Van Halen III is another prime example of a long standing fanbase being ripped off by garbage.

I did return this record for Metallica's Load....a very good choice.

Many times these bands have little control. The industry business folk were to blame. For example, fo a long time, the standard was 3 singles to an album, the rest filler.

We wont know of it unless it's sealed by the court (judgement) or it's settled out of court....I think the latter.

My example with VHIII was not an industry blunder, it was a Van Halen brother blunder.

Found a new recording of Believe from Dallas on youtube. The guitar solo and bass is pretty damn good, I must say!

So it seems like you just jump on whatever bandwagon Ed is on without even really thinking about what you're saying or doing.

*sigh*

My post wasn't intended nearly as literally as you took it. It was more of a "Seriously, this argument has ended up here?" post. I thought your initial point about the vocals was fine, but the argument derailing from there was just nonsense.

Next time I'll just say that.

If there ever is a time when I really truly don't understand what you are saying, I will approach it by asking questions, not by simply saying "I don't understand." These message board arguments aren't exactly rocket science.

So the industry folks told the bands to just write "filler" songs to fill up an album?

Agreed that bands didn't have much control over how they were marketed, who they toured with, what songs were chosen as singles, etc., but they did usually have enough control to write decent albums on their own.
