What times are the games in your part of the world?

Games in Perth, Australia start at:

7:30pm
10:00pm
2:30am

Not too bad actually. I get to watch two games a night and be in bed by midnight. Of course as the tournament progresses most of the good games are at 2:30am so it's going to be a looong night...

13.30 pm

16.00 pm

20.30 pm

one game over - overall 1 all was a fair result I think.

Very proud and optimistic at this point.

Well done to the team - I think they will surprise many people at the WC2010.

That sucks because in the US people could care less if the US won (unless we actually won, because then people would want a reason to party - even though they don't care about soccer in the least bit).

QFT.

The other result from our group didn't go our way either... and with our #1 goalscorer being suspended for the next game, there's little chance that Australia will progress from the group. sad.gif

ha .. so I don't know much about soccer, but what I saw of the Aus v Germany game was embarrassing. Germany is obviously one of soccer's superpowers .. why the hell were so many Aussie's so confident before the match? The shots of people watching it on the big screen's here in Melbourne and the predictions people were making were insane.

wahahaha! classic, Ed!

Just a quick report from the WC -

On Sunday a group of us set off on a road trip to Johannesburg for the Holland v Denmark game. I must say, the dutch fans are amazing! Very happy, cheerful people. I loved every minute of my experience with them - on the bus and later on the train back from the stadium, they are awesome!

Saturday is Holland v Japan here in Durban, so I am looking forward to meeting the dutchies again. Man! the outfits are so crazy! The guy with the Cheese-hat is my fav! I've seen him on TV so many times in the various football tournaments and I actually got to meet him in Johannesburg! Hope to run into him and his crazy crew again!

and Today: I've just gotten home from a long ass day!

First, was at the Moses Mabida Stadium to watch Switzerland totally surprise Spain (YESSS!)

The stadium was full of fanatic Spanish support, so it was awesome to see them silenced and eating their words - having listened all morning to them go on about how they were going to 'set the WC alight' - my ass.

Anyhow, that was great!

then later, was off to the Fan Park to watch the South Africa v Uruguay game on the bigscreen...man that was a horrendous display by us.

Trying to forget that.

I will post some pics when I have more time and when things are less frantic!

hehe...yeah dude! and I've come down with the a little flu and sniffles as well due to the weather. It is awfully cold down here - on the way back it snowed in the Drakensberg and it was freezing in Johannesburg as well.

I now have no voice, and I'm going to have to try my skills with the vuvuzela! The dutchies have taken to it quite amazingly. They've created a unique mix of drumming and vuvuzela to their chants of 'HOLLAND!'

it is a quite spectacular sight (or sound?).
