I wasn't trying to be condescending. I was trying to be straightforward and inform.

Everybody around here has a hair trigger and personally attacks each other and especially Ed and Nick in practically every single post. I am frankly not enjoying the pointless shots that everyone takes at each other around here lately. It's getting harder to seperate the personal attacks and just look for discussions of substance. So, I wasn't trying to attack you. I am not going to get into a p*ssing match with you or anyone else here.

When I said "Read the entire paragraph" - I meant that if you read the whole paragraph together, it informs the meaning of the term "purported" as it is used in the paragraph. Because the end of paragraph 32 states that Ed executed the contract on behalf of both FVI and Black Coffee. You only quoted the first part of the paragraph in your post about the meaning of the word "purported". I was merely trying to note that if you read the entire paragraph as a whole, it seems to state that there is a question about the validity of the contract. Frankly, if that is a point they were trying to make, I think their lawyers could have explained that a little more clearly in the complaint.

And when I referred to a Websters Dictionary definition of "purported", I intended to say that the term "purported" has a particular meaning in documents such as this complaint, as opposed to a general, English language, dictionary definition of the term, such as the one you cited in your post. When someone says that a contract is a "purported" contract, they are not saying that they themselves are purporting it to be a contract and they are not sure it exists. They are saying that it is purported to be a contract by someone else (i.e. the parties to the contract) and they are not willing to concede that it is a valid contract.

I just wanted to explain myself. I think you read my post with a tone that resembles the hundred other attacks, flames, and pot shots that are posted here every day, and I was not intending to do that.

I too have tried not to flame or attack but I've seen enough of them to react more strongly than I should.

I'm starting to feel this way also. I'm not taking sides between Ed and TGF. I hope they both succeed, but you can't even post a newsworthy topic in Ed's forum without a bunch of people bashing him or making sarcastic remarks. When the opening post is news on Ed and then the next 10 - 15 posts are people bashing him, why would the people genuinely excited about the news want to even post there? That's fine if people want to do that, just don't bash Nick and tell him to stay away from TGF threads because he doesn't like them or have any interests in their music. It goes both ways.

No kidding. I never understood that sort of forum mentality. Just because someone doesn't post on a forum doesn't mean they don't know what they're talking about.

Oh toughen up it's just pot shots. I personally don't mind who posts where. Ed is just such an easy target though, it's hard not to .. I'm sure a lot of people will be out of your hair once Zman's board is up ... if it's ever up.

I can't speak for everyone, but if someone posts that they're excited about Ed's new album or a song, or whatever, I'm not gonna have a go at them about that, just the subject in question. The only person I've taken pot shots at is Nick because, well, that doesn't need explaining. Nick is a special breed and I don't suspect all Ed fans are like him.

Totally, and sometimes people will come out of the blue with something amazing in their first or first few posts. I remember right before this whole thing blew up, I can't remember the guys name exactly. But some dude came on here and he started going on in his first few posts about the reason Live split was a secret contract and Ed stealing money etc ... he got laughed at. Then about 2 days later CT posted his infamous blog basically confirming that whoever that guy was knew what he was talking about.

Or doesn't have to be ground breaking, this Josh guy that's turned up had a pretty cool first post about Kevin Martin and co. ... interesting reads. Gotta judge everyone on quality not quantity. Nick has more posts than anyone here and I don't think he's ever said anything. I got second most posts here and I feel like a broken record now most of the time

I can take the pot shots, I just think many times it's annoying as it's the same thing over and over again. I'll say the same thing about Nick when he talks about TGF many times. It gets annoying.

By the way, I'm not asking anyone to get out of my hair. I've visited this site since the original Dan (no offense Dangum) opened it and I think it would be a shame if a lot of people left this board.

I was here since NectarDan started the board too, but the fact is now the board is being run by someone who is only a fan of Ed. Even if it was a flip side and it was a fansoflive board and only run by someone purely into TGF and not Ed, it just seems ... wrong.

Yes yes the drama is what keeps us all here. As much as I'm awaiting the TGF forum, I sense after the album and tour and we all get our opinions out and debated, that forum will slow down to a crawl. So then we will have to return (not that I'm leaving this place) and have a good ole fashioned e-slapfest again with Neddy. lol

Why should we? It's our forum too.


The difference is immaterial.


I'll be sorry to see some people go.
For the others, I hope the door doesn't hit them on the ass on the way out.
