Gracey doesn't seem to be shedding any tears over parting with Ed:

thechadAgraceyF**king jury duty...but remember...new band coming soon with myself, PD, CT and a new singer! And no more plexi-glass for me!!!

BTW -- The Plexiglass thing might not be anything more than an annoyance for Chad brought on by sound guys. The plexiglass helps with mic isolation to better control the mix for the FOH/monitor guys. It might not have been a band decision, but their sound techs.

I theorize that it means the new outfit will be playing generally smaller venues than Live did. Plexiglass is a necessity for many venues to get the best possible sound.

Now if this isn't a shot at Ed, what is?:

thechadtaylorFinished great calls with CG and PD-it feels very refreshing to have everyone empowered & involved in the entire process of being "creative"

SOY is gonna hate me, I know

I saw that, and thought exactly the same thing. Subtle.

That said, I think most of us have been saying since the V era how cool it would be to have all of the guys contributing their input, instead of being the backing band for Ed.

I really wanted to ask what took them so long, but thought better of it.

I think the guys had been together for so long that it was exceptionally hard to do this, even if it is just a hiatus. With V they probably figured Ed was cracked out and would get over it, BOP was a (small) step in the right direction, and SFBM flushed the career down the fucking toilet. Even though they stuck it out three years after SFBM's release, they have yet to release an album since, and I think that was pretty much the last straw. Fuck Ed, fuck his gay lotions and stick figure drawings, fuck his communist ways. He reminds me exactly of Dewey Cox.

Well.... without entering anything to do with Ed, it's great to hear the guys are enjoying themselves and all having healthy input.

let's hope when (or better if) LIVE will get back together, they learnt from those 2 days apart from each other and CT, CG and PD will be able to bring in their part on LIVE albums!

But first, I'm really excited to see what the 3 of them with another singer will produce. Bring in on!

I may be in the minority, but I'm fucking disappointed and sad. Everyone likes to blame Ed for the bands "demise," but where were the other 3 guys over the last 7-8 years while Ed was stifling them creatively? I really just don't believe that Ed was such a damn dictator, that he totally stifled them creatively. If they were stifled by one person in a band, then I blame the other 3 just as much as Ed. Speak the fuck up if you feel like your band is not making great music! Can anyone else see what I'm saying here?

I'm excited for CT, CG and PD, but I will NEVER EVER be as excited as I always am for another Live record. Their new clip sounds pretty damn awesome, but the idea that some other guy is going to be adding his vocals to that song bothers the hell out of me. I'm not saying that I've absolutely loved everything Live has put out over the last 7-8 years, but Live is Live to me. This other band with 3 of Live's 4 founding members and Ed out on his own may honestly signal the end of Live.

And while I appreciate CT and CG's excitement, I can't help but feel sarcasm and subtle rabbit punches towards Ed. I don't see Ed doing that at all. Where was all this excitement over the last 8 years with Live??? You mean to tell me that Ed owned this band so much that he zapped all the excitement of the other 3 talented musicians? Give me a break.

Frankly, for the amount of love (and money!) we've put into this band, we deserve a better, more complete explanation as to why this is even happening in the first place.

Read the latest blog on Chad Taylor's website. Don't ever say he doesn't think for us fans. wink.gif

I think this is the explanation everyone is looking for. I do think any animosity towards Ed or the band is undue. Bands rarely work the way fans like to think they do (I've been in my fair share) and Chad's post is welcome.
