I don't know why everyone is saying IT'S THE END COMPLETELY... I mean, according to the primary sources, it's just a break. We might think we're all smart and brilliant and can read between all the lines, but we've been told that it's a break. So I don't think it's incredibly naive or whatever to think it's just that. They'll get back together in a few years, I've no doubt.

As for the Candlebox singer, he's quite good, yeah. Not quite as ballsy as I'd like, but he's good.

Nick has posted on facebook an event listed as Live (Final Show) a bit overly dramatic and i dont think very fair to the more casual fan that hasnt been following these threads or CT or EK's tweets...

I actually still like Eds' voice quite a bit, falsetto and all. Its the songs that have gotten all shit-tastic for me.

This potential pairing is interesting to me because Kevin would be going from a blues/jazz influenced band to a more rhythmic, but not as complex sound of the Chads and Pat. He has always surrounded himself with musicians who can absolutely rip their instruments to pieces. While I love the Chads and Pat for the sound they make together, it is not as rangy and intensely musical as Candlebox or the Hiwatts.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I hope the creative pairing pulls something new out of both parties. I'd be anxious to hear the songs they write together, and if the Chads and Pat really expand their musical palette for the songs it could really be something.

For what its worth, there doesn't appear to be any quit in Candlebox that I've heard, so this new band if true is likely a side project for Kevin. Happens all the time. I doubt this is a long lasting endeavor, just something more like Temple of the Dog or Mad Season (if anyone remembers those bands, haha).

I think I'll be disappointed if it isn't Kevin now.

Maybe not, but your looking in the realm of LIVE.

Pat is probably one of the most underrated bassists of our generation and I would pit him against any from our time. Gracey is quite talented as well. A lot of well respected drummers have given him notice, including Ulrich from Metallica. Have to pull up the article where he mentions Gracey.

So I don't really think Martin is taking a step down here as far as the talent side of it goes. The only difference I can see straight off is the talent of Candleboxes lead guitarist.

But again, I'd but Pat's bass playing abilities against just about anyone from our era. His creative side has just been hampered by Ed's ego is all. I think the same can be said for both pat and Gracey. We'll just have to wait and see what Taylor is capable of.

Just checked out a few candlebox songs, not very impressed ... just seems kinda bland, the guy has a bit of a generic voice, there were hints to matchbox 20 in there which is never a good thing. But who knows, maybe this combination will work.

Hints of Matchbox 20? If that is the case then Candlebox influenced THEM, not the other way around.

It's not who influenced who, but the fact that they were one of the first bands that popped into mind after hearing candlebox just wasn't a good thing.
