It's too bad that it took a need for me to chime in on this thread to finally get me to register for my favorite band's message board.

I read that Chris did indeed mention Live in his pre-interview, but the producers of Idol cut that part, so it appeared as if he took the credit for originality. For the record, I hate Idol but Chris caught my attention when I read on this board that Live was his favorite band. I did a little research on the dude, and for any of you who doubt his originality, check out his music at his band's website. I've actually really gotten into their music, and it gives me a little of what has been missing from Live lately.
