WAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ROCK OOOOON!

Will Do! Here's another one!

Since Live's last original album, Songs From Black Mountain, was released on June 6th, 2006, Live has released only four original songs.

They are Radiant Sea, Beautiful Invisible, Forever, and Purifier.

Now that we've all heard them for a while, how would you rank them (1-4) from Favorite to Least Favorite? Feel free to discuss any song or explain your reasoning.

The top of this list would have been flipped earlier today, but I've permanently changed my mind.

Copy paste.

It pretty much goes by how sissy it sounds. I don't care for the SFBMish songs so Purifier and RS do it for me. Purifier seems to be at the top of all lists, you listening Live??

Hrm, no contest. Let's just sort them into groups.

The Good: Forever, Purifier (I personally like Forever slightly better.... I think Purifier would sound better without Ed's voice being overdubbed so much)

The Bad: Beautiful Invisible. Totally nondescript, bland, bland, bland.... bad.

The Ugly: Radiant Sea. Some of the absolute worst lyrics Ed has ever written, bland melody, and unbearable white-boy rapping. Perhaps the worst criticism a song can receive is "it sounds like a V B-side". Radiant Sea is one of those. And what do you know? It actually -is- a V B-side!

1. Beautiful Invisible
2. Forever
3. Purifier
4. Radiant Sea

However, I do think that Forever is a better single than Beautiful Invisible.

Are you serious? I think there's a good reason this didn't make the cut for V. Which is saying something, given songs like OK and The Ride did.

Purifier
Forever
Radiant Sea
Beautiful Invisible

That list doesn't do justice to how much better Purifier is compared to the other three, though. Money song right there.

Leave "The Ride" alone... it is a really good song in a really crappy album. If you took it out and shoved it inside TDTH you will see what I mean. The sitar is awesome.

the mean reason BI didn't make V is that (I guess) it didn't fit the other songs. It doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the song. It's as good as most on V, but it's too cheesy for my taste. Which doesn't make it a bad song, not at all.

Thank you! I think the only 2 standout songs on V are The Ride and Simple Creed. I would have really liked to hear The Ride in concert, but oh well.

As to "the list". I just listened to them in a row and here's my take on them. This sure won't win me any awards:

Forever - I don't like the U2ish beginning and I can't stand the "oooh"'s, but once it kicks in at the chorus, it's a good song.

Radiant Sea - I frickin' love the bridge. Just a good song.

Beautiful Invisible - I like from the bridge to the end - I wish they'd have rocked the end harder, but it would've made the song flow weird... maybe.

Purifier - I've never really liked the song. I do NOT like the harmonica addition. If this was on a regular Live album, I'd skip it every time. I'm obviously in the minority. Then again, I love "merica", so there you go.

I do like all of these songs better than anything on SFBM though.
