Why the hell would they release an old song off of an old album from years ago as a new single? That makes absolutely no sense from any perspective unless it's an unreleased song that they are bringing out of the "Unreleased Library".

That is what I meant, a previously unreleased song from the TDTH/V era.

I was at the show last night, and they rocked "The Distance." Railo was there, but they must've had the keyboards turned way down because he wasn't very noticeable. Which was a blessing.

I think his prominent backing vocals are what used to disturb me the most.

QUOTE(Pokey @ Jul 27 2008, 12:13 pm) *

Well .. fuck. I think Michael Railton only works on songs that had a keyboard or him in mind. For instance most things on TDTH, I guess some of V and probably a bit of SFBM. However whenever they play stuff from MJ, TC or SS he should leave the stage, it just doesn't work and butchers songs. Like in a version of Lightning Crashes Ed says something like "This is Michael Railton and he's going to bust out a really rockin' piano solo because this song really needs it", and I'm thinking ... "No it doesn't".

I disagree. I think the keyboards in I Alone straight out fucking kick monkey ass. As per here.

Wahaha we got an approva; from the band that the new songs will be released and there ya go - they release an Overcome Full Band! Wahahahahaaaaaaa!!!

I really do not know what to say on topic. Eamon just said it all I think.

Railo was good for the stuff like TDTH-V. We'll see if the new stuff (if there is any) is good for him as well.

When I heard the news I was a little disappointed. Keep him away from the hard-rockers and please don't bring back "nobody knows", that's all I ask!

That will keep me from going to the Baltimore show now. He sucks and drags the whole set down. His cheesey keyboard fills in songs that don't have them destroys the material and any rocking vibe along with it. His presence can only mean bad things for any new recordings, much less live shows. I won't attend another show again if he's back for good, and I'm a die hard since the 1st time I heard the snare drum crack on Pain Lies On The Riverside. This band does not need keyboards, it completely destroys their show and the validity of their songs. He absolutely ruined TDTH and V Tour (V album sucked regardless) and will ruin the rest of this tour and any going forward if they keep him around. I'll keep my "lucky penny" in my pocket now, thanks for f'ing up a good thing guys, way to go.

Keyboards on Shit Towne, need I say anymore.

The good news is that he is essentially invisible. Last night he was tucked away in a corner hidden, his keyboards were turned way down, and I only noticed them three times. On the River, Distance, and a little keyboard intro on Dolphin's Cry [the intro to DC didnt bother me at all].

My personal best guess is that he was fucking up the rhythm with the band last night, I've never seen the band make as many technical errors as they did last night and given by the amount of times Ed and CT went to his keyboard podium to talk to him [some during the middle of a song] it wouldn't surprise me if he stay wasn't short term this time around.
