The version of We Deal in Dreams that's on the Awake CD was recorded during the Throwing Copper sessions, so technically it doesn't meet the post-TDTH criteria.

But it wasn't released with the album. Technically it's new with Awake (unless you are a super Live fan that already had everything).

Hey, Dangum, I definitely remember some guys from SOL banging at my head back in the days when Awake was released that the version was completely re-recorded for the CD

I'm pretty sure the only other one mentioned was God Don't Never Change which was played at a few shows last summer. There's a decent mp3 recording of it and last summer there was a vid on YouTube but I'm not sure if it's still there.
I thought the mp3 was encoded from the YouTube video. Anyway, the mp3 was pretty poor, do you have a better sounding copy?

Technically it's old as it was recorded in the 90's. The fact that it was never publicly released is irrelevant. You might have a point if the version released on Awake was re-recorded in 2004 but from my understanding it's an untouched version from 94.

There was a radio interview that Chad T and Pat before the Perth show in 2004. They talked about We Deal in Dreams and there was no mention about it being re-recorded... They did say they had a huge archive of unreleased tracks that would probably only be released when they died. (they were joking). I'll see if I can track down the interview and post it..

I do not think it sounds TC-ish at all actually...

I would love to read that.....gives me hope to hear some of the "Holy Grail" songs like New City

Ok, here's a 10 minute interview with Chad T and Pat that was recorded a few hours before Live's final show of the Australian 'Awake' tour.

I think it confirms that the version of We Deal in Dreams on Awake was taken directly from the Throwing Copper recording sessions. Of course Chad reckons that it was the first time they played 'Operation Spirit' consistently on tour since Mental Jewelry, so obviously his memory is flawed in certain respects...

My favorite Live cover without question, has to be "Running to stand still" by U2.

It gives me chills.

I can play it on repeat for hours and hours.

Ed sang U2's 'One' down here in Sydney about 5 or 6 years ago, and it was awesome!

I don't think Helter Skelter counts since it wasn't released on one of their albums, regardless, I laugh at your 10th song. I don't understand how anyone can listen to it but I'm glad you enjoy it.
