Major factors? Are you fucking kidding dude? The MAJOR factor here is that Live sucks now. They are completely irrelevant and even their most diehard fans are not coming out to their shows anymore. The gas-price and over-touring is a minor issue if you can even call it one.

You're subjectivity on Live is utterly mind-boggling.

And yours isn't? lol.gif

Mets is right and anyone with half a brain knows it. I know a shitload of people who know all about Live's old albums and are fucking stunned that they're still around. They've completely fallen off the map unless you are a major diehard fan like some of us here or a newb fan like Nick and a handful of 40 year old women. Three years ago, both crowds probably still went to shows, but now it's basically just the latter. What do you think it says about what the majority of people think about their shows, Nick, that when they play markets they recently played their ticket sales are considerably less?

I can see why you're so slow, too, since I completely disproved your little gas theory yet you still continue to believe in it. I guess some people never learn! Sure, it's that extra few dollars that's keeping people away. lol.gif

Live was selling out shows consistently last year and sold out 2 in March and were a big part of the DC Chili Cook-off selling for for only the second time in 10 years only a few weeks ago. Also, the summer tour looks to be selling pretty well.

I'm done with the argument now. Neither side will ever agree with the other, its pointless to continue.

So basically, Live sold out a ton of shows last year and in March, but then in every single event since where they were the sole act they fell flat on their face? Oh well, I guess you gave up.

A lot can change in year. Shit every day that goes by Live falls off the face of this planet some more. Maybe they're a hit on Mars laugh.gif

Yeah but if they were, no Earthling would go to their shows on Mars because of gas prices.

This discussion is kind of inane. The Vegas show in March was packed, so were the other two LIVE shows I've been to in the last year. Ventura is a really small town (less than 100,000 people) and the show was advertised to start at 7pm on a Friday. Many people usually come into Ventura for shows, so had it been advertised (correctly, I might add) as an 8pm start time or on a Saturday, I think more people would have been to the show.

That being said, the crowd was really into it and the band was great.

Justin, it was the gas prices bro. It's the only rational explanation.

LOL, clearly. I think 9/11 affected ticket sales to this show as well. ha

Are concerts suffering in general due to gas and economy? Seems that Live has been selling less than usual this May. Are other bands/events feeling the heat as well?

Dave Matthews Band kinda did for their two shows in Pittsburgh, though you can also blame that one on the Pens being in the Stanley Cup finals.

On the other hand, their two shows in Camden, NJ (the pisshole of America) sold out quickly.

Strange world we have.
