I'm taking a break from my no-post-sabbatical to give an HONEST review of last Friday's concert.

First off, casino shows generally suck and this wasn't far off the mark. I'd venture a guess that a good chunk of the crowd that was there received their tix as part of a hotel/casino package and they didn't have a clue who CS was and probably why more than a few people left during the concert. Ed needs to stop trying so hard when the crowd just isn't in to it.

I expect more than 70/75 minutes, anything less than a minimum 90 minutes is a RIP-OFF!!!

DROP Joel's song NOW. What little energy the crowd had just got sucked right out when he started singing and I've heard that has happened at other concerts at well. Don't get me wrong, Joel is a great guy but he's just not that great a singer, at least not with that crappy song. And before you jump all over me, I have heard some Steep stuff before, and his voice is just . . . . well, okay.

It was great to hear Forgiveness, let's hear more old stuff like that instead of crap like I Don't Need Anymore Friends or All That I Know (ED, the crowd doesn't wanna do sing-along!!!). Even dropping Hollywood might not be a bad idea.

Last Friday night, well, it just wasn't the CS that I know and love.

So, islandergirl (yes Nick, its Islandergirl, not islandgirl. if you're going to quote someone, at least get her name right) saw a bad show. She's seen as many shows as I have if not more. One bad night in all those shows? OH, RIGHT! That means they suck in Nick's world. Silly me.

I saw them again last weekend. It was a great show and the crowd loved them.

I take her opinion with a grain of salt. She makes comments about the crowd and how Ed shouldn't try and get them going. Yet Roland took a crowd that was dead at the beginning and had it standing and roaring at the end. I've been to a lot of LIVE shows and have never seen them accomplish that period.

I thought they played a bit too much off their new album, but aside from that, it was a very good show. Certainly not great, but good.

I just knew Nick would run off as soon as he read that and post it like the predictable little cocksucker he is. My bet is that his wife probably takes every opportunity to suck as much neighborhood cock as she can. She must be gay because all I'm guessing Nick can get off is the horny old geezers he beats off for a living.

And the last time I saw Live, they sounded like shit and didn't move an inch. Collective Soul embarassed them. The crowd was going nuts for CS and Live couldn't get a peep out of them. I was embarassed for Live and it was so bad, I'm not so sure I'll be going to see them next time they come.

If you didn't overstate your reviews they would be more effective.

You may have enjoyed Collective Soul's performance over Live's at that particular show, but I am positive that Live wasn't embarrassed by CS. I am also certain the crowd wasn't watching Live performance in silence.

I thought Live was better than Collective Soul each and every time I saw them perform together, however, I can't say that CS ever embarrassed themselves. They are a solid band, with a good following, they just aren't my cup of tea in concert.

LIVE WAS EMBARASSED BY CS. DIDN"T BELONG IN THE SAME BUILDING. CROWD WAS SILENT FOR LIVE.

Get it yet know it all American? Roland had the crowd absolutely fucking roaring, almost deafening it was so loud. People around me were plugging their fucking ears for christ sakes. Roland was having a good time and put on a much better show than our ED.

LIVE came out and didn't move the whole show. Ed didn't talk and the sound was off. No stomping from Chad T and Patrick had a scowl on his face the whole time. After every song, there was barely any clapping, never mind a cheer. The only cheer of any relevance they got was after Lightning Crashes. There was no encore because nobody wanted one. The crowd started to leave before LC was done.

Live was fucking balls that night and I was embarassed for them. They were worse than bad, accept it, you fanboy little cocksucker.

As for my reviews being overstated? Where? Why? Because I said CS was bang on and Live sucked ass? Where in this thread did I overstate my opinion of this concert?

Because again, I did nothing but state the facts. CS was very good and Joel bordered on spectacular, he's a very good guitarist. The crowd was tame for half the show but by the end, they were going fucking nuts, especially during Shine. Fact is, if Live were to break after Heaven, the crowd would have left. Waiting for applause after that joke for a show would have been a bad idea. That possibly why it never happened?

Live could have had an off night, I'm not disputing that, I was not there. It is known to happen to bands at certain shows for various reasons. Regardless, you are the only one harping on it, and its in the past.

I think Live puts on a much better show than Collective Soul. Some will agree with me, others won't. Whenever two bands with hardcore fan bases get together, there will be arguments. The most important thing is that people buy tickets to the shows and the tour is successful. That's the bottom line.

I got the setlist from fansoflive.com. Your original review said that they didn't play Heaven, when they in fact did, so I guess we have no legitmate source for the setlist.

I don't know anything about Collective Soul in concert, but I have to say I have been increasingly disappointed with Live's stage effort in the past few years. I don't doubt that they're trying somewhat, but at their age they're going to have to try harder. Shit, how hard would it be to change the setlist every night? They've only had 10+ years to practice all the songs people are interested in hearing. The crowds are losing interest because everyone in their right mind knows the old Live is better than the new Live, and yet Live continues to play a shitload of new songs.

Anyways yeah, the show I just went to see was completely different than the last one. Not only that, do you remember when Live used to get creative with some of their songs? They'd do numerous extended versions of I Alone and weirded out versions of POD?

Well, seeing CS again reminded me of that. They extended version of listen and Shine, just to name a few. Shine rambled on for about 8 minutes or so, with a mind blowing guitar solo by Joel and an extended session of the band jamming the fuck out of the song. In my opinion, Shine rocked out 10 times harder than LJ or WD, the last 4 or 5 times I've heard Live play them. I'm not just going to sit here and say LIVE hit it harder than CS simply because I'm a huge fan of LIVE. Collective Soul is so much better than them on stage right now it's not even funny. They may be a bit goofy and all that, but they're enjoyable and almost all of their songs fucking rock in concert. Even the song Heavy fucking absolutely murders anything I've seen Live perfvorm the last 3 times I've seen them.

That's pathetic really considering how much harder Live is than CS. It shows why thousands of fans have deserted this band and said fuck it. They've gone softer than richard simmons cock in front of a hot chick. This band is at it's best when it's creating and rocking the fuck out. All their best songs are the driving rock songs that pound the fuck out of your ears. Surely these guys recognize this when they perform them no? They'd have to be utter fucking retards not to. So now why come out with this pansy faggot music? They play it in concert and it's obvious nobody likes it, so what's the fucking point? I'm sincerely befuddled at what the fuck they're thinking. Because all I can think of is that they suck, they've lost it and just don't have it in em to make music like they did 10 years ago. Real creative rock music with bridges and kick ass anthmic build ups. Not this three minute pop shit that any fucking ass clown could make to a 3 chord melody. Fuck that shit.
