I do think they'll change producers. Jim Wirt is used to having to overproduce bands like Hoobastank to make them listenable, which is unecessary with Live.

I do feel like as a fan of Live I should know the history of their producers. Can you give me a history of live's producers? I know harrison was in the beginning sometime... well... I think.

Why did they change so much? Can I get reasons these guys didn't stay? Jay Healy seems like he would get the right kind of sound back just off of seeing your list.

why do any bands change producers? lots of bands change all the time for many reasons .. a falling out, producer is unavailble to work with them at that time, they want to achieve a different sound etc..

the dark vibe SS had, was not because of the producer, but mainly because of Ed's feelings at that time (it was "a very personal album for Ed").
Don't know about the producer's preferences though, maybe he stimulated the rocksound in it.

It would be great is someone could post the setlist. I'm interested to see if they've changed it up and if they're playing anything new. Since they're in Wisconsin perhaps that is an indication that they're going to be playing more shows in the Midwest this summer!

I would be surprised if they didn't play at least one new song at the upcoming shows, but sometimes when they do this type of touring they wait until the second or third night in to start playing new stuff. But yes, I will be checking frequently starting next Friday!

I doubt any shows will be added until after these March shows are completed.

I get the distinct impression that the upcoming shows will be used to test ideas for new songs, recording will start right after and continue through early summer, and then more dates will pop up in late summer to promote the new work. Maybe we'll see a late fall or early winter release? I guess we'll know in about ten days.

I hope you're right: I like the idea of the band playing new songs or trying out new things on the upcomin shows.
But on the other hand: when was the last time the band played songs of an album that wasn't even recorded yet?
No BoP songs made their debut before recording them, no SFBM made their debut before recording them (and not counting Awake and Radiant Sea) .

I guess 2000 (that's almost 8 years ago) - they played Nobody Knows on tour (that was recorded sometime later for V), or maybe this one has also already been recorded (for TDTH), and in that case the last time was... 1998 eh.gif with all the Stil Aroused stuff etc.

hope you're right though cool.gif because if so, it would be a positive sign!

It's my understanding that V was already recorded before they played any of its songs in concerts, so I think the last time was indeed before TDTH. However, TDTH was also the last album to be written and recorded with all the band members actually in the studio at the same time, and I've heard the upcoming album will be a return to that method. So perhaps they will go back to testing out material before it's recorded also.

both Like I Do and Life Marches on were played a good 6 months before BOP came out, but only a couple of times each. The version of Like I Do was a little different, a lot more raw and simple sounding.
