Just an FYI - friendsoflive.com, the official website of Live, has slightly updated their look to go along with the new album Radiant Sea.

Only if this site would do the same! whistle.gif

hey, although it looks quite cool, i would like to see them changing the whole site with every new album (not especially this EP), but looking at the release of Awake and SFBM, in fact they still have the old BOP layout, they just change colour shemes and the banner above, but the design keeps the same heynow.gif anyone remeber the flash thing for the V lbum. That one was also good thumbsup.gif

Are you willing to donate time or money to make the updates happen. If not, be happy that you have a free fansite with a pretty cool message board to entertain you for hours a day.

I know the site isn't as good as when Dan ran it. I totally admit it. However, I'm not a computer guy and work everyday from 7:30- 6:30 at night. If someone with a knowledge of computers wants to help with the site, I'd be willing to talk.

If you don't like it, there's always SOY. smile.gif

Those are all great arguments for why you can't update the site. They also are great arguments for why you should have never bought the site in the first place.

If I didn't buy the website, it would have very likely closed. Despite all I'm lacking in computer knowledge, I am a huge Live fan who makes it a point to visit the board on a daily basis. I also attend a lot of shows per year and always post a review as quickly as possible. Plus, I try to keep up on Live news as much as a man who is not a band insider possibly can.

Let me ask this question, was anyone else out there willing to spend the necessary cash to purchase fansoflive from Dan? If so, is that person still willing to buy into a piece of the website? If so, I am all ears.

Thanks for the support! I just checked out friendsoflive's new design and I think it rocks. I am a huge fan of green and think the website looks awesome.

That couldn't be more wrong. I know there were other offers out there, including my offer of topping whoever had the highest bid. I know for sure that the site would have kept going had you not purchased it.

I'm a huge Live fan who visits the board daily and goes to many shows per year. I think most of the people here are. That doesn't make you qualified to run a good fan site.

Yes, people were willing to spend whatever necessary to purchase the site, and no I do not want to buy a piece of the site. I'm really not trying to be an asshole, but it does piss me off that the only decent Live fan site remaining was bought by someone who has no idea what to do with it.

I'd NEVER SELL the site to you. I'd rather it close first.

Yeah, there is good reason why. But that doesn't excuse the fact that this site was bought by someone with no knowledge of how to run a website. I think if he's as big a fan as he claims to be, he should be embarrassed for not updating the site ever. His "I'm open to suggestions" approach doesn't cut it. He bought it, now he needs to run it.

I bought it with a partner who was to run the website and I'd moderate the message board. It hasn't worked out as planned. If anyone would like to step up and has computer knowledge, I'd be willing to listen. I'm losing money on the website, but if the person turned out to be hardworking and trustworthy, perhaps a payment plan could be worked out.

Sorry man, don't get so down on yourself! Guess I should back off on the update demands. Thanks for at least keeping the site in existence.

By the way, Existentialist is a total shithead!

Why am I a shithead, for calling Nick out for not doing shit with this site? This site has been around for at least six years and has been the best site around since Live Web left. It's a shame when sites as great as LW leave, but I think it's worse when great sites are bought by Live fans who have no intention or means of maintaining its greatness. Nick bought the site and it's his responsibility to sustain it. I understand that his partner ditched him, but that doesn't free him of the responsibility to maintain the site he bought. If he can't get his act together soon, I think he should sell the site to someone who is able to maintain it.
