I'm not a fan of everything SW or PT does, especially, as I said before, the new stuff that they demo'd in concert in October. But they are my second favorite all-time band, so yeah. PT is teh shit.

I don't think Deadwing has filler, really. (Though Open Car and Start of Something Beautiful certainly aren't as strongly written as the rest of the album)

The following tracks I consider filler on In Absentia:

Wedding Nails (pretty unoriginal riff, some pretty weak sections)
.3 (the atmosphere style is pretty forced)
The Creator had a mastertape
Strip the Soul

I think Blackfields first album is overall stronger than most PT albums, though doesn't have as many absolutely amazing songs.

Okay, I got to listen to Blackfield already and it's pretty impressive. Some parts even remind me of Pink Floyd.

I like how it's at times dark and brooding in a rather subtle way.

For anyone who has ever visited or frequented the Porcupine Tree mesage board, I just thought I'd share with you a banned member's farewell remarks. Sums up a lot of the reason why the place sucks.
