Okay, so Live is not one of the candidates, but there's a poll over at http://www.rockintown.com that has been up for a few weeks in which you can vote for the best band of 2006. There are a ton of bands listed, but right now it's a VERY tight race at the top between Pearl Jam and Evanescence.

Go on over and cast your vote, for whoever you like best! You can also nominate Live to be added to the list if you feel that they are deserving.

http://www.rockintown.com

(To vote, click on the red CAST YOUR VOTE button below the current top 10 rankings, then choose the band you are voting for...)

I voted for Black Stone Cherry. Just 'cause I felt like it. And also because they ain't too bad.

Since Dir en grey wasn't listed, I voted for them as a write-in choice.

They're way too fucking underrated.

The Raconteurs - hands down.

The most original and talented new band in 20 years. thumbsup.gif

I guess I am getting old because that list is a list full of shit if you ask me. I can't believe Flyleaf made the list. They are horrible in my opinion. I thought I liked Black Stone Cherry until I got there cd and heard their mediocre lyrics and the fact that they really aren't doing anything different. I listened to it twice before I got bored. I like Wolfmother but only because they remind me of Black Sabbath and old good 70's rock. I don't like them enough to vote for them though because there are songs are bit repetitive. Sometimes it sounds like the cd is skipping!

Anyway if I had to vote I would vote for either Pearl Jam or the Foo Fighters. Neither are a favorite of mine but I do respect them for still making decent music.

I saw them live back in August.

They were excellent.

I've seen them too and can't understand what the appeal is. But that's just me. I've come to realize that I don't like most of the music that other people do.

Army of Anyone

I have only listened to their single. It's pretty good. How is the rest of the album?

Great! Much better than the latter STP stuff. This is the best CD i've bought in the at least the last year. If you check out their website or their myspace, you can hear a couple of more of their tunes. Some of my faves are non-stop, it doesn't seem to matter, & father figure.

BTW, nice avatar, sharks are one of my favorite teams, but of course i am loyal to my hometown thrashers who started out smokin'!
