This is a great song!

Does anyone know if a better version exists? The one I have sounds like it was ripped from an 8 track or something.. sad.gif

The best version that I know of is the one on Ed's website, though it's not downloadable. There are a couple of poor downloadable live versions floating around but it's such a great song that I don't want to discredit it by listening to an awful version.

I also have the 'crappy' version similar to the one on Ed's site.
But than again someone on this board said that Lift Me Up was used in the background of a movie scène, and that meant there was a good studio version! So someone who know which movie and dòes have it, can at least make a sound clip of those few seconds (or is it a scène people are talkin in? lol.gif )

the movie is kevin smith's "mallrats"
i haven't seen the scene myself, but as I understand, it's a deleted scene that's an extra on the dvd. this was discussed on the board before, and I asked anyone who was able to make a clip of it to please post. nobody came forward who had the ability to do so at the time. here's hoping that as of this writing, somebody does have the ability to do it. if you're out there, everyone would definitely appreciate it.

I made a new digital copy of Hold Me Up from a source tape I had from years ago.. just today, ironically. Is there an FTP I can upload it to? It might be better than the one currently floating around.. as I tried to reduce the noise and EQ it a bit.

In fact, the whole tape is full of Throwing Copper outtakes and alternate takes. Mostly altered production on the tunes that ended up on the album. Some versions are significantly different. It even has a studio version of Susquehanna.

Tracks are below... happy to share... but please note: I've done what I can with the quality of the songs... but the source tape I'm working from has a crazy phase issues and noise that I couldn't remove.

Tracks
( 1 ) Dam At Otter Creek
( 2 ) We're Dealing Dreams
( 3 ) Iris
( 4 ) Hold Me Up
( 5 ) Susquehanna
( 6 ) Shit Towne
( 7 ) Waitress
( 8 ) Pillar of Davidson
( 9 ) Top
(10) Stage
(11) All Over You (cut)

Wow, I'd love to hear those. I can't help you with an FTP server, but you could try YouSendIt. There are a limited number of downloads (100 before the link stops working), but people who download it could mirror other copies. And I'm sure Dan may host them after he gets them.

I'm particularly interested in your recording of "Hold Me Up" because it's definitely one of my top favorite outtakes. The other stuff is intriguing, too. There's a studio version of Susquehanna floating around but it's HORRIBLE. Anything would be an improvement over that.

i'd love to hear those too... i would also recommend making a gmail account and just emailing the files there and giving out the password if you are adverse to you send it...

on a somewhat related side note I found this clip of lakini's juice on you tube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xaZ7ta5VPc...related&search=

and it sounds like it has different lyrics or at least from what i can make out. has anyone heard versions of lakini's juice with different lyrics?

That's a cover, so that band probably did their own thing with it.
