Anyone else going to this? I think I am going to try and make this one instead of the one in Hammond.

I don't understand why the free concerts don't get more people. no.gif FREE people! happy.gif lol.gif
Has anyone gone to a free one before? Will it be crowded?

Last year Live played at the Taste of St. Louis. It was free. Only the food, booze and crafts stands charged. There were three bands and Live was the headliner. For all three bands there were decent crowds there. For Live, you could move around and about, but there was a flow of people from the stage all the way back to the street. Couldn't estimate how many, but it was crowded. It was a great concert by Live and the first time we heard some of the songs from SFBM. The audience, as always, was very enthusiastic about Live's performance.

I looked for the Budweiser stage on the map for the festival, but I couldn't find it. Where exactly is it?

Thanks for the info, BTW.smile.gif

I've e-mailed to see if I can find out. Like you, I checked out their available information and found nothing useful. I'll let you know if I find anything on it.

The concert stage is set up on first street directly in front of the Arch steps. If you follow the signs for the Arch from the interstate, it is very easy to find.

Thanks so much. That makes it much easier. We went to the Taste of St. Louis last year and at first, it was hard to figure out where that one was. Maybe St. Louis doesn't want any "outsiders", only those who live in the area and are familiar with the city. lol.gif

Thanks again!

Well, we were debating whether to go or not, but we're going! kicking.gif We HAVE to since Ed was sick at the last concert... we're driving six hours. See you guys there, if any of you are going!

Thanks for the info about the stage... we were going to stay within walking distance, but we had to get a cheap hotel instead. I hope we get good seats, and I sure hope the "concert sponsor area" is not half empty like it was in Hammond. angry.gif

set list

All Over You
Selling the Drama
Mirror Song (introduced as "a really old song that I wrote when I was 19 and I still love this song")
Run Away
I Walk the Line (introduced as "a good cover of a great song")
The River
Lightning Crashes
Chad Taylor guitar solo/Lakin's Juice
Dolphin's Cry
I Alone
Heaven

Encore Break

Chad Gracey drum solo/Sofia (Ed climbs up the scaffold on the side of the stage and sings from there for most of the song)
White, Discussion (at the end, Chad Cracey throws about 8 drumsticks into the crowd--I was lucky enough to catch one)
Dance With You (sing along "We all want to dance with you" at the end)

This was my 6th time seeing Live. The set was short at only about 70 minutes, so it wasn't the best set list, but the performance was definitely the best I have seen. The band seemed to be having a lot of fun and the crowd was really into it. They seem to be doing a lot more instrumental improv during their shows now and the energy that seemed lacking at some of the earlier Songs from Black Mountain shows is definitely back.
