I agree. It will grow on you as well as all LIVE albums and any other band for that matter. You just have to give it time....

I don't even let my friends listen to SFBM. They might slap me or kick me in the groin. Lol, who knows? I do know that SFBM isn't a good album. My friend is really into TDTH since I gave it her for her birthday. so... rockin.gif

Before I play SFBM for my friends and coworkers, I issue a disclaimer saying that they are not to judge the band on this album because they have much better albums than this and the singers voice is actually much stronger and better on those other albums. This I have to do after bragging about Live so much.

My friends tend to like the album as much or more than Live's previous work. Its a great adult contemporary album with a few excellent rock songs spliced in.

I agree. I have sent the cd to a number of friends around the country who have never heard Live, with the exception of a few having seen their AI appearance. All who have received it from me have given it a thumbs up. Like me, they say there are certain songs that appeal to them more than others, but that on the whole, they enjoy it and are potentially interested in checking out more of Live's cd's and catching them on tour.

If there is any downfall in the promotion of SFBM, and actually, there are many negatives in the promotion, it is that maybe information on the cd is not reaching the "new" audience. I see mostly the negative comments coming from fans who have been following Live for a long time as they compare SFBM to previous works. To the newer fans of Live as well as those who have just heard them for the first time with SFBM, there seems to be more praise for the current work and a higher level of enjoyment for the cd as a whole.

Exactly! Live tried to reach a new audience with SFBM, an audience that was only familar with Lightning Crashes and Heaven. This CD was perfect for an adult contemporary listeners, unfortunately Epic and radio failed them. It doesn't matter how good a product is if people don't even know that it exists.

SFBM is great regardless of chart position. Lots of great music doesn't sell. Nick Drake, who died in 1974 only sold 40,000 albums during his life time, and thats for 4 albums. Up until 1989 he only sold 800,000. As of 2005 he has sold 6 million. Great music lives forever!
