Concert Chronicles recently uploaded a video about the situation.

But did Ed REALLY fire the entire band? confused.gif

Of course, we're to rely upon the voice of reason AKA Rolling Stone Magazine nervous.gif

Or is it possible he asked them to step aside for a period of time due to certain other factors whistle.gif

All that video is taking information from third party sources and compiling.

Based on CT’s post, seems like all the band members have a mutually agreement in place, which is not the same as firing the band.

Whatever CS said about the money Ed might still owe by using the band name, I would think that is more attached to CT, PD, and CG. If it's just about separating the name (brand) from potential litigation then a mutual, temporary separation from Ed and CG/PD makes a lot of business sense. But the key word there is temporary.

CS' comments to Rolling Stone indicate the separation is a more permanent state of being. So either Christopher Thorn misunderstood Ed, CS misunderstood Thorn, Rolling Stone misunderstood CS, or the announcement indicating that the classic lineup being *temporarily* unavailable ("for these dates") is a farce.

Fwiw, there has never been an announcement stating that CG and PD have been *fired*. The only announcement of that kind was to announce CT was fired. But you don't know until you know. We'll see.

100% , glad someone else out there can take off the rose coloured glasses and make the sensible judgement. Are people going to rely upon a guy who hasn't been around for 6 years and that whose friend allegedly spoke to Ed?

The one thing about Ed, he rarely spills the beans. Ed's post earlier this year about the boys not talking to each other would be one of the rare times he's broken his silence.

So I take the words " all fired" with a grain of salt and others should do likewise.

Guessing Pat and Chad G agreed to distance themselves from the band until all of the legal matters are settled.

On Instagram Robin Diaz in promoting the Utrecht show for July 2023. Looks like he thinks he'll still be in the band then.

I could see that, not sure all of the extenuating circumstances could be wrapped up by then.

Seen a lot of videos posted of the new lineup, haven’t watched any yet, are they any good?

I almost started a new thread with this, but I think it fits here…

I dig the blue Līve logo. Need to get some merch with it. Do I want it to stay forever? Of course not, but it’s a fun temporarily. I just noticed the official Līve YouTube page put up the blue logo thumbnail. This made me question, would changing the color of the logo keep Ed from getting slapped with a copyright lawsuit? Or maybe that’s reading too much into it?

I would think that since he owns 55% of Live, he could easily continue with the red logo, he might just want something new, since it’s a new iteration of Live. Either way, I kind of like it.

It's confirmed that the two Dutch shows in July 2023 will be with the current band; Robin, Zak and Chris.

Makes you wonder if it’s permanent. Is CG still practicing for a tour on Youtube?

I don't have much to say as I sit and observe. But, when people in good faith enter into agreements with bad actor(s), it eventually comes out in the wash. The battle is the which side is better at 'telling the truth campaigns'. We are easily swayed into a better psyop based on confirmation bias. Same thing is going on in facebook threads saying Ed is the issue, BH is the issue, etc.

I find it very telling, good or bad; many inner family and friends of Live band members are flocking to the FB groups to observe, comment, and protect. The band could have been so so much more, but the gravy train ran dry many years ago. This new re-issue of Live is an attempt to keep it active during an unprecedented hiatus and to save some semblance of operating income for some members, and keep the fan base from drying up for good.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant to clean out the rot and cancer. It can be saved but it might take some time.

The page of the Utrecht gig for one.

QUOTE
The American rock band +LIVE+ broke through in 1994 (then without pluses) with the now classic album Throwing Copper. The heavy guitars, compelling melodies and especially the intense vocals of frontman Ed Kowalczyk formed a recipe for success that resulted in quite a few hits. Around 2000, Live experienced a new heyday, with success songs such as The Dolphin's Cry, Run To The Water and Overcome. It's been four years since +LIVE+ visited our country, Ed Kowalcyk already reports that he can't wait: “I am totally ecstatic about singing and playing for LIVE fans in Holland again!” The setlist will consist of the many hits and fan favorite songs.

For this tour, the band's original line-up is unavailable due to various circumstances, so Ed has chosen a group of musicians who are part of the band's extended family: guitarist Zak Loy (who has been with Ed and +LIVE+ for 10 years) , drummer Robin Diaz (former Hole member who performed with the band for two years), and bassist Chris Heerlein (who played in Ed's solo band for six years).
