Again, I have no knowledge, just being speculative.

Then why bother commenting and prefixing your statements with "I believe"?

Nobody has provided a shred of evidence of any contract that's preventing Ed from doing anything.

The only people who would know, aren't talking.

More reason to release that solo cover album and do a tour.

I would find that highly unusual, and I imagine one of Ed’s stipulations in participating in the reunion would have been that he be permitted to do solo work. I like the guy, but he’s got a huge lead singer ego. I see almost no way he would have agreed that he’s not allowed to do solo work.

I also am not sure if a “reunion agreement” is a real thing.

There were definitely concessions from all parties. The Turn disappeared from all platforms, and CCP haven't played any songs post The Distance to Here in concert.
When Heaven is played, it is always Ed on stage alone.

Ed also hasn't performed any solo shows since the reunion, and hasn't released any solo music.

I'm just there is some agreement between the band on some points.

I see no reason Zak Loy would want to play Ed solo shows and promote his solo work with Ed when he could make way more money playing festivals with Loyve.

All venues in NJ are reopening June 4th at 100 percent capcacity. Concerts are back.

The question is when will Live return to the stage?

i wouldnt consider this a sabbatical for live. its the norm for them to being doing close to nothing.

You get comfortable to a certain way of living. What might seem like a lot to us, might seem like getting our pay cut in half to them.

Collective Soul have announced fall tour dates with Better Than Ezra (and someone else... can’t think off the top of my head). It’s not true “no one is out there playing” (unless that comment was meant solely about Līve and Loy).

Your comment I replied to indicated that Loy (and since you seem to have him pegged as calling the shots, Live) would rather do festival shows and pull in the big easy money rather than the Ed solo shows. My point was that if money were the issue they aren’t doing a great job of chasing it.

And yes, if they are happy with where they are, by all means take a year or two sabbatical. Or retire. Or reform the Gracious Few. Or do something non musical. Whatever they choose, more power to them.

But obviously as a fan of Live posting on a forum dedicated to them I’d like to see more music. I’m not offended that it’s not coming out anytime soon, but what else are we going to discuss?

Just a shambles that they haven't spent the last 18 months writing new stuff or even at least streaming something online other than an interview with that ropey-looking hippie. They're here for the big shows playing the same setlist and not much else.
