A question to those who have the vinyl/CD. Has Throwing Copper been remastered? If so, does it sound significantly different to the 1994 release? Also, is there an information in the liner notes about the remaster? (eg. who did it etc.)

It's not remastered; it sounds exactly the same, and there are no notes on a remaster in the booklet. That said, the vinyl pressing benefits from not being squished on a single LP. Unlike the original and the MOV represses, the album is basically spread across 3 sides (bonus tracks on side 4) instead of 2.
It sounds nice.

I received my 25th Anniversary Deluxe vinyl today - it's a pretty nice package cool.gif

The liner notes were a good read (I didn't realised Chad G was a Midnight Oil fan).

Surprised to see the lyrics for Hold Me Up are quite different to what we all thought (and actually better IMO). Kudos to the person who said they heard Ed say "Love or Fry" thumbsup.gif

Interesting. I can definitely still tell a difference in the two digital versions (at least on Google). I suppose this could be different rip qualities combined with a bit of a volume boost. But the new issue, while louder, is easier on my ears, leading me to suspect improved dynamics. I will listen again though.

Yes, my bad... you too confirmed what I was hearing. I listened to the song on the way to work, and I can all the way hear the “rip you up” part, also. This has me shook, in a good way!

I haven't listened to the digital versions, aside from taking a quick listen to the new CD. A/B-ing the new CD to the old, there isn't any real difference in the master. The vinyl is not a remaster. I suspect any differences in the digital versions are from the distribution platform encoders.

Thanks for posting. I gave it a couple of listens while reading the lyrics. Most of it checks out imo. Except in the first verse i don't hear him singing 'silent thoughts'. Sounds to me like like 'silent whores' as repeated in the final verse.

Any chance you could possibly post the lyrics to Susquehanna? It would be greatly appreciated.

I said silent whores I said it years ago and I was laughed at !! And i was totally taking the piss as in I didnt actually think that was the lyric but thats what I heard. You can find it here on this message board!

You know i still think it's bullshit. Someone in the band read that and thought let's just make that the "official" lyric.

WTF is a silent whore?

It's obviously a silent horse. Probably the one she rode into his head. Definitely not...

Wait for it...

What are the songwriting credits on the new tracks? Do they differ in anyway from how the original tracks were credited?
