Can we take a moment to give a shoutout to Robin Diaz? He's been fantastic filling in on drums and has done a superb job replicating Gracey's style. Hope to see Gracey back in full swing soon, but given the situation I couldn't imagine a drummer doing a better job than Robin has. Well done!

Why does he still perform though? It seems a bit overkill to have two drummers who play almost the same thing.

Did anyone notice Chad moves his fingers on this right arm when he's supposed to play with it?

Because if he didn’t “play”, there would be a consipricacy that Ed kicked him out of the band because Chad was still upset about the plexiglass 12 years ago, thus ruining the whole feel good story of the reunion. Pretty simple.

Haven’t listened or downloaded this and to be honest, I still only wish to just know more details of CG’s injury. If it’s uncool to be asking, (spoiler alert), feel free to PM me. Reason I’m curious again, is CT saying on his Instagram story last week that CG is worried about the speed of Stage. I thought that was weird. Possibly some sort of justification to have Diaz back again.

It is well documented that he tore his triceps tendon, which is a pretty devastating and career-threatening injury for a professional drummer.

Last tour people were asking why two drummers. He adds to the sound, but more importantly Robin is an insurance policy on the drums. If Chad aggravates his injury they can finish the show and their tour.

It's whack. Robin can sit off stage and replace chad if needed

It's common enough to have touring musicians, drummers included. I know Fleetwood Mac has a second drummer for shows, and I think the Stones do too. Those guys never sit off the stage unless it's a a song without drums or percussion. Those are older artists, but CG is injured.

All that said, idgaf if they have fourteen drummers and a harpist. I'm gonna go see them again either way.
