Good point, and the best so far from a shill. Live meant so much to me that I too am holding out hope for a miracle in terms of new music that is half as good as the old days. But, I’m not delusional enough to think that these steaming piles they keep releasing are that.

Please do not call me a shill. I am sure name-calling is not allowed here. thumbsup.gif

Now, then... if you can't find new music, why continuously come here to proclaim such thing and to be so colorful against that which you despise? How often do you find yourself discussing the merits of the tracks you enjoy?

You somewhat enjoyed Zion. Doesn't compare to the 90's but maybe they could pull out some songs worth listening to. We might also get some re-releases this decade.

Yeah, it’s a good song. And, TGF and The Turn were great. This stuff though? Good God.

But you obviously act like a shill dude. Even now you're trying to weed out Ex from the conversation and create a more positive discourse serving Chad's interest. At least have some pride in your shilly ways.

QUOTE(Bremang @ Oct 24 2018, 6:52 pm) *

I honestly dont know, but anyone who comes around claiming or reveaing inside info and then smears fans who spectulate or critcize the band would be my guess. Some examples here might be sjn who at least at one point managed Eds fb page followed by a bullshit response to swamis review, and ODT who only shows up to build hype and smear, or gruno who talks to chad, points out the merch section on the website, and confronts negative comments about Live on a regular basis

You seem to leave out context when trying to prove your point. Noted.

I pointed out the Merch on tour and website update section.... because people asked for it and appreciated it as you see here:

Link 1

Link 2

So that should put an end to your diatribe of nothingness with regard to merch.

So what if I talk to Chad and the other members of Live. Your point?

As for confronting negative comments: I sure don't make the negative comments about the band or their music. That doesn't mean I love everything they have released. No. And, they know that with me they get the straight answer on if I like a track or not. Having said that, I don't feel it helps any point of discussion to continuously slag a song or album. If it sucks so much to you, then why keep revisiting the topic only to say you don't like it? Doesn't make sense. Like I stated to that other one, why concentrate on the negative? It's a waste of time, as is evident here.

Instead, you rather name-call and belittle others. I get it. It's something to do and you enjoy tugging at the strings of others.

Then you come up with this:

Again, you act like everything has to be negative. There is no mix for you -- it's all negative.

Don't worry, I understand your need for that negativity. I just won't be a part of this.

Yeah maybe you're right. The last thing I want to see here is ODT to come through with another 8000 posts in 2 years all saying the same thing.

First new music from Live in 10 years, and worth the wait. "Be a Giver Man" is my favorite so far, but solid music all around. Can't wait for more!

Mixed reviews from my iTunes:

Yawn by MysteryWhiteBoy
"What happened to Ed's lyrics? They've been horrendous since 2000. The music is decent and pretty rockin here, but that's not what I loved about Live. They used to be dynamic and intense. Now it's just forgettable standard rock that doesn't elevate or dive. It's just kinda there. The Turn with Chris Shinn was the best thing they'd done since 1999. Bummed this is such a big step backwards.

Hmmm by Saint Lewis Band
I love older Live music, really liked Ed's solo records, & thought the one Live release minus Ed was alright, but I'm not sure... love track 1.. not so much track 2. Not sure how this is going to go, but I'm glad to see these guys make a run for it again! Btw, thanks for the martini in Nashville back in '11, Ed - I enjoyed our Jesus chat!

Live is Back by tid57
Best band ever! Back with a vengeance!

Where Is The Release of Hold Me Up by Journey 7
I thought for sure that Live would finally have put the kong awaited release of "Hold Me Up" from Zack and Miri Movie on their new album. We, as Live fans, have begged for an official release for years. Now that the band is back together, where is the track we been waiting forever for???? Please guys... at least release the single on iTunes!!!!

Live! i LOVE this band by Journey 7
I love the two songs so far i own every album they done alot or live rarities b sides concerts seen them liove ounce and can't wait for more! Ed from Live is truly an amazing singer and song writer songs like lightning crashes i mean that a really powerful song

Wow.... by myronsd
Nope

There was hope! by Roisterboy
When I first heard Love Lounge, I saw a glimmer of hope on the horizon! I thought "This could be their true comeback!" Well, no so fast!! This EP brings nothing new to the table. With the exception of Love Lounge, the rest of the EP is dull. The lyrics could have been written by a grade school kid!

Ed solo by fupaloop
I saw Ed K. solo set in a SMALL church for charity a few yrs ago. Unbelievable talent! Was really something special.

Surprisingly good! by ThePowerCosmic
"The Distance to Here" was the last great LIVE album for me, so I wasn't expecting much here, but I was pleasantly surprised! This sounds like a natural progression of what I would have expected to come out after "The Distance..." The Vocals and melodies sound more like their later 90's material and I love that the guitars are grittier and more rockin' that the last few LIVE albums. Ed's vocals sound great too! keep going guys... wish it was a full album in this new sound!

Trying to hard by tadyo
Sounds like they lost a lot of footing and are trying really hard to write a single here. So it has that record company sound which i don't like. Also it's very 90's still.

What happened Ed? by Smoosh smoosh
Dear Ed, what can I do to help you bring back the the creativity that gave birth to Throwing Copper? Why continue when this is all you have to offer? Why insist upon joining the milieu of disposable modern Rock bands? Stand out or sit down.

Love it! by Celeste239
Best cover of Venus in Furs!

Great return to form. by SJN1279

WELL...? by HACK45
5 TRACKS? NOT REALLY ENGAGING LYRICSS OR MELODIES THAT LIVE IS KNOWN FOR! IT'S OK! GIVE IT A SPIN!

What happened by THE REAL MIKE O
Love Lounge is real good typical Live song. Picks up where they left off with "The Turn" except with Ed back on vocals. After that I don't know where they were trying to go with that but it's straight up bad. I'm hoping they get back to the drawing board and quick.

It's a shame that very few people actually enjoy and regularly visit this board. Most people are objective and everyone is entitled to their opinions, but are you just straight negative and disrespectful, and I imagine deterring some from reading here consistently.

Maybe you should listed to MM - TDTH and focus on the real message of +Live+, no one is forcing you to listen to the new music.

Yes, it’s me that’s causing people to not come here, and not this band’s crappy music for 20 straight years. If it weren’t for me, this board would surely be jumping, with all of Live’s other great popularity right now.

Maybe you should take your own advice and focus on the real message of the shills. Nobody is forcing you to read my posts.

Just catching up on this thread and it has definitely gone south.

I recently saw a high school photo that a woman shared of her and Ed going to prom together next to a recent picture of her meeting Ed again. For me it's another reminder that these guys are human just like us.

Sometimes famous people get placed on pedestals because they ended up in cool professions that many of us have dreamed of at some point. At the end of the day the members of Live are just people doing what they love, their way.

The members of the board are also people - people who shared a love for the same music as me. If you never connected with the music of Live you never would have found your way to this board.

Over the years it's been my choice to follow this band and to stick with them. I'm not going to bash other people for doing the same. I'm also not going to fault people for losing that connection or moving on. People change and life happens.

After reading the recent interactions in this thread I'm going to try and be more mindful of any disagreement that I may have with others here. I'm also going to try and be mindful of how I share any criticisms regarding the band. This doesn't mean praising everything, it means choosing the words of any criticisms with sensitivity.

I appreciate the music that these guys have shared with me over the years and I appreciate what it has meant for me. I appreciate that they are still putting themselves out there with every release and show.

I also appreciate that other fans, like me, come together to discuss our passion for this band and the music they have shared. It's great to connect with others who have a similar interest, even if it's only through a message board. I've gotten a lot out of this board over the years.

I'm going to try and make this my everyday philosophy here. I hope some of you consider doing the same.
