For everyone saying you want to hear 10,000 cups, but also want 90's Live back, you do not need to hear 10,000 cups. It is nothing like 90's Live, or any other Live (even the new music). Let's just say it references dirty water and it is not 'Stage' ...

Just wanted to throw that out there. After hearing these 2 new songs, I'm assuming they abandoned it even for an LP because it is nothing close to Love Lounge or 'Giver' in terms of energy.

Now, if you like a laid back, almost blues type song and aren't looking for 90's Live, you may love it.

Just my 2... Anyone else that's heard it agree or disagree?

No need to hear it. I want hard/ heavy rock and soulful singing.

I agree. I was thinking of that last night when Bremang mentioned it, that it’s a good thing they put it on the shelf. It’s so different that it would cause some people’s heads here to explode and not in a good way. If “Be A Giver Man”, a song I’d give a solid grade of a B to, gets this much flack (boy, is the fan base is ever still divided), 10,000 Cups would never be accepted.

I feel sorry for the fans are ready to move on. You’re going to miss a lot of fun.

Exactly. Get TGF back together or bring back Chris (not that I think he would come back after how CCP treated him.), and stop calling pop songs "face melters". I knew an older music junkie who literally had thousands of CDs in his home. After I had him listen to TGF he immediately said it was classic and he regularly listened to that album....cause it was real rock.

I will continue to dream of the day when PD, CG form a new band with Shinn, Memphis and Chris Thorn.

Unified Few?

Since that won't happen we need the four lifelong friends to buy a big sack and head back to Jamaica for a proper reunion and writing session. Leave everyone else behind.

But then on the other hand, some, if not most of you, jam to Run to the Water and Simple Creed though (puppy scruff?) facepalm.gif

Chris Shinn's swan song occurred when Live had a huge television appearance in Australia, and Chris forgot the lyrics to I Alone.

Chris hasn't done anything since he left Live. He was a weak performer, ill prepared to be a front man, never was able to consistently remember lyrics, and the band wasn't able to tour effectively with him.

Chris Shinn will not be coming back, nor should he.

Far, far better than Love Lounge. I think it's the best thing ECCP have released since BOP, but that isn't saying much.

Production still sounds really rough. Ed's voice is super drowned out.

And the lyrics....I guess they are about on par with everything in the past 15 years or so.

True but i never liked neither of them, especially Simple Creed. A long time ago i considered TDTH as outstanding but it is not. It is very good but some songs are just ok.

My Live gold standards are Iris and Gas Hed.

I am wondering what would happen to this riff with The Gracious Few or with Chris. Remember Believe vs Honest Man?

Definitely feels to me like music that would have been better served by Kevin Martin.

Maybe but he made some great songs for The Turn. There are at least 5 excellent songs there. The last time Live achieved this with Ed was 20 years ago when TDTH came out.

I don't want Shinn back in Live. No need to beat a dead horse, but I'm pretty sure the boys know they're sacrificing their artistical integrity by reuniting with Ed. I'm sure it will all be revealed again in another hiatus.

There will always be a split with the fan base, but that's on Live and the way they handled the split from Ed and Shinn.

The split in the fan base occurred during the messy initial split between Ed and CCP.
Shinn is inconsequential.
