There's no money to be made in releasing a Live B-Sides or Demos collection now, so the label has zero reason to do so.

So, buying the demos back should be simple if you have the money. Yet, Chad T. stated that getting ahold of these tracks has been an uphill battle a while back. Are they too expensive? He said something to do with the legal hurdles. Why so FREAKIN DIFFICULT? Geez!
He still snuck the Churchbox recordings out, maybe he can do the same for the others if we don't get them officially on an album.

They don't care enough about the demos to buy them. Otherwise they probably could.

Live could crowd fund the cost of buying the demos if they're not confident of whether it would be profitable. See whether the demand is there by the fans.

I don't imagine many bands lookmbackwards like that. It's usually more what's coming next. But even if they did, how many copies would they sell? It can't possibly be enough for it to be worth it.

Now, if they wanna leak it all like they did Churchbox, I'm on board.

Do you all think that something is coming on December 31st? Whether it is a site relaunch, a new song, or tour announcement? I would hope the puzzle comes together in time for their 25th Annniversary.

Although I can see that it'd make sense time wise, but there's been no evidence of any time frame for anything.

I'd also point out that releasing something AFTER Christmas doesn't make sense retail-wise, but it does happen that way sometimes.

I hope so. Given the current climate, the world needs good old fashioned Live more than ever. I listened to Mental Jewelry today and I think that the message of love, unity, rejection of black and white polarity and our ability to peacefully affect change is so relevant right now. I think a reunion would be great. I think it would be cool if they host a concert in York or Lancaster for fans on Inauguration Day and play Mental Jewelry in its enitirety. Because of the message and the timing, that might actually get them some publicity.

Only if they change it to "The Beauty of Orange".

For the longest, I have felt that they are going to do something Dec. 31st. Re-releasing Mental Jewelry on it's anny would be super savvy. I wouldn't mind a re-record of it, either. I know some here voted no to the re-record, but I think it would be cool. They also need to put three or so new songs on the rerelease and then go on tour. Like the previous person said, open up tour with a local show, playing MJ in it's entirety... fans would go nuts.

However, they -do- need to put out the announcement, site relaunch and release a new song several weeks before the 31st. Doing all that on Dec. 1st, to build excitement and some press would be the smartest.

Playing a NYE show would make the most sense to celebrate the anniversary with a tour announcement soon after, but that is looking less likely by the day.

I really wasn't for a re-record, but now i think i would be fine with it. A couple 90's bands have recently done this and i really like how they sound. They did them all acoustic.

Tonic - Lemon Parade Revisited
Toadies - Heretics

I like the Tonic one better, personally.

I'm not sure if I'd like an acoustic version of MJ, but beggars cannot be choosers, so I'd take it over nothing! I'd say it's a real possibility with Ed, seeing he did TC acoustically. I sorta dug the orchestra he had backing him up at Pinkpop that one time). But any new songs... those need to rock our faces off.

No thank you to re-records of MJ. At least when I listen to that now I know it came from a genuine place. Listening to a re-recording of MJ would just be putting such a cheesy disingenuous spin on it. I struggle to hear anything authentic/genuine in Ed's voice and so all the meaning of those songs would be stripped away.

If they have to do something like that, then what I'd prefer is something like this. In December/Jan do a MJ live show, then in Feb or March do an SS live show. Then, if you have the albums re-released remastered with a couple of extra tracks, add on a second disc which is the live versions of those albums for their respective anniversaries. I mean, Ed will still want to tour for the Throwing Copper 20th anniversary but I'm sure they can talk him out of it.
