Wow, how is it possible that this show has already been "sold out?"

Quite a number of Ed's shows have sold out. Almost all of his Feb/March shows have.

It would be worth contacting the venue and asking if they have any spare tickets - you might get lucky smile.gif

Well, turns out there is only 300 seats. I guess maybe it really is sold out!

Show was sold out. Small venue - 300 seats at a museum. Upper class middle aged white folks mostly. Where are the Ed fans under 35? Zak can play his instruments well, but I don't think he sounds very good on any Live song. I kept imagining going back to 1995 and seeing Live rock out tremendously in that tiny venue. Zak seemed to be a good match for the Ed solo songs though. Ed played guitar for everything except stage. Strange seeing Ed play guitar on Lakini's juice. Ed says he's working on a new recording. His voice was dying by the end of the show which he attributed to the dry desert air in Phoenix. By turn my head, he sung everything in a lower register and a little softer. I'm guessing they played one song fewer than every other show due to his voice dying. I was mostly not impressed by the visuals. Mostly just Rami playing instruments in the video, which corresponded to the drum track used during the show. I'm guessing Ed has the same stories for every show. I alone: Ed wrote the lyrics "it's easier not to be wise" because he wasn't feeling very wise at the time: Jerry Harrison told Ed he needed to finish up the lyrics cause they ran out of money for production, and Ed was struggling to get the lyrics finished. At the end of the show. Ed had a table for signing cd's after the show. Huge line, I did not stay. He probably wouldn't have liked my questions anyway.

Setlist:

throwing copper

lakini's juice

all that i wanted

turn my head

seven

overcome

All that I wanted:

Bremang, what's wrong with Ed/Live fans over 35? I've never attended a show at this venue before. It was like a bad high school reunion seeing a couple of the classless Saguaro Scottsdale rich kid assholes I unfortunately remember. Aside from that, it was an ok show. Besides Heaven, what did he cut out of the set? That was pretty weak cutting the set. He had enough strength in his voice to advertise his merchandise, he could of at least played a full set that most of the rest of the tour received. Sad to say the crowd was your typical Scottsdale "I'm here to be noticed" crowd that was dead and sat on their asses for most of the show. I also thought the visuals would be better. But if Ed can't afford to pay a whole band to do a real plugged in tour of TC, I doubt he had much to pay Romy for the visual production. The acoustic stuff was great 5-7 years ago, but now it's pretty played out and boring. Seeing TC in it's entirety made me remember that those songs are meant to be plugged in and performed with energy.

Ed normally plays TC + 6 extra tracks. This time it was only 5 extra tracks (Heaven was ommited).

Just surprised that the under 35 crowd generally didn't follow the band through the years even though TC made a big impact on MTV with the younger teenagers when it was big in 95.

As I said, he probably only cut one song. He's been playing either heaven, dolphins cry, or something like that. I don't blame him, his voice was shot by turn my head.

He uses his falsetto to cover up the shot voice.
