I agree. And it doesn't fit him well. You can tell he's embarrassed about that song; it's not him at all. ..."Do I make you proud?".. lol.gif

I already requested Mystery to the hot ac station in Chicago. We'll see if they play it.

I find it sad that Taylor Hicks' new song has 324 new spins this week, and Live has only been added to 1 radio station. no.gif I agree, Epic messed up.

When are people on here going to figure out as much as they don't like American Idol, its going to trump anything else in the music world at least in the short term. Last week was all Taylor Hicks. This coming week might be too. It comes with the territory of winning the competition associated with this country's BIGGEST television show.

I wish people would get over it, and stop comparing Live to it. Taylor Hicks was going to kick this ass of any band/musician looking for adds this week (and Live doesn't even fall into that category).

I wrote the program director at the Mix and she said they hope to be promoting the song soon. She added that they love Ed at the Mix. So expect it getting added in the next few weeks in Chicago.

I just looked at the poll and was wondering how people could actually think that Epic is doing a good job promoting Live. Not only did they dump the band on a smaller distribution label, but they failed to promote the band even after their performance on American Idol. Not only that, but they failed to keep the band's May 9th release date and totally missed the American Idols sales bump that would have occurred the week of May 24th.

Geffen pushed Heaven to become a hit. The song was a total flop under Radioactive, but once Geffen took over, they found a market for the song and pushed the hell out of it. Epic has thus far failed to garner any radio airplay for the two singles that are at least as marketble for the Hot A/C radio market.

Mystery also was debuted on a the hottest show of the year with over 30 million viewers. Epic thus far failed to garner the radio airplay to feed off the buzz of the recent performance. As far as I can tell, Epic hasn't done shit for Live outside of a cool spring tour.

Well look at it this way .. Epic are looking out for Live .. they're going "geez these poor guys are gonna have a lot of people laughing at this shit, lets hide it from them!"

There is a positive to everything smile.gif

RED Distribution is actually one of America's largest CD distribution company. They handle distributions for 42 different labels.

Yeah but bands on Red/Epic are generally the bands that much less promotion. Live is by far the biggest band on Red/Epic. I don't think I even know of any other band on that branch of the label.

My final point is that if you aren't a big Live fan who hangs out on their message boards like us, or you didn't watch Ellen last Friday, would you even know that Live had an album coming out on June 6th. Birds of Pray at least that decent promotion and you knew May 20th was the day for album release. I remember Sirius Sattelite radio promoting Live's new album at least four times a day.

Also since Live goes overseas June 6th to tour, they will not be able to do any US promotion the week of the album release. Real good move!

Anyone have any good things Epic has done for the band? I'd love to hear them.

you are absolutely right. they release it in the US while they are overseas instead of before their US tour where they could take advantage of the publicity they received from AI & Ellen. it would have been great to be able to by the CD at their shows. it is completely unfathomable to me how anyone thinks epic has done a good job.

There deffiantly is not enough promotion for this album, well atleast in Australia. When i first bought the album the day it came out the person at the store was supprised to see that LIVE had a new album out. WTF!?! You work there!!!

When Birds of Pray and Awake were released here there were adds and HEAPS of promotion everywhere. There is hardly any for this album.

Though, it was a good idea to get Ed out here for abit of pre-release promotion. However, again, no one really knew he was out here unless you were a fan of LIVE no.gif

And the online equivalents of each still list it as being released on 6/13.

I'm tired. I'm just so exhausted by this continuous runaround. Whenever the hell it comes out it comes out. I'm still gonna buy it then & try to promote it but, Its just my excitement is kinda dead right now. Chad said it was the 6th so it better be tomorrow. But if not, ah well, so fucked up!
