QUOTE(themaestro @ Nov 28 2012, 7:53 pm) *
Longtime, devoted fans were ready to give Live one more chance but when BOP arrived with first single Heaven, everyone knew that the Live they came to enjoy and love so much was gone. To even the most devoted fans, Live was done. Interestingly, with BOP Live did manage to attract a new soft rock audience and with appearances on shows like Ellen they became recognized as safe rock for soccer moms and housewives (and Nick).

When BOP was played in my ears the first time, i knew it was over. Not even Like I Do, saved us as the first single, the one Ed promised would be.....on Fla Radio,

he chose poppy shit over the real foundations of Live.

it was over.

There you have it Nick, that's what happened to Live. Want to give Ed 100% credit for SFBM. Go right ahead because that was the nail in the coffin for Live. Go ahead, give him 90% credit for BOP if you want. Give him the credit he deserves for killing Live. CCP carried his ass on the early albums with their music. He became exposed real quickly when he muted them. Unfortunately it exposed Live as well. They probably should have gone with a new singer post TDTH when it was clear that Ed could no longer write and perform songs that held up to CCP's music.

I think it might be time to check little Nicki into the mental hospital. Along with Live4Life.

QUOTE(Merica @ Nov 27 2012, 12:23 pm) *

Yeah, when Ed sings "sometimes people change and I'm the proof," he isn't acknowledging/admitting the vast decline in his ability to write quality material... for example. He's talking about finding God which, incidentally, was probably the start of his decline. He traded the abilities he had for God. Threw his art down the toilet to spend his life worshipping a fairy tale. Well played, Ed. You idiot.

I would love to hear him explain how he see's that he's the proof of people changing. I have no idea what he would actually say, or if it would even make sense.

Sort of, although I sort of see it as a comedy being written in real time. Turn this thread into a script !

I have him on ignore and do my best to avoid reading him when quoted (I wish people would stop that). its really not hard to ignore him. the threads are frighteningly angry.
Nick's only voice is here and a few people who listen to him on fb.
I'm sure Ed will get his due in court.
There are what, 2 dozen of us regulars? and all but 3 or 4 of us know Nick's got a borderline IQ. so what's the point in arguing? He's either just preaching to his friends in his choir, or loving pissing the rest of you off.
Oh well.
I'll be skimming for actual news...

If you haven't noticed there isn't much news here. This place is basically just a place to host Nicks anti Live crusade and some like to at least counter the BS he is putting out. There are better sources for Live news.

In the end I think that what this shows us is that Nick has no idea about Live, song writing or music in general. Credibility has not been any lower for him. This guy literally knows nothing about this band.

Yep - that kind of sums Nick up as well as all this bullshit in one paragraph.

I know we should ignore the little dweeb but if Dan isn't going to stop him trolling on here then someone else has to refute his spin and nonfactual opinions. if all of us ignored him it would be a Fans Of Ed message board in no time.

+LIVE+ rocks! Ed sucks. Simple as that.

Seriously, all Nick is doing is putting on a master class of demonstrations into the fact he doesn't understand the band he apparently loves, he doesn't understand music, he just doesn't get it. Normally people who are out of their depths save a bit of face by going "ok I really don't understand what is happening here", he does the exact opposite, he pushes so hard that he doesn't just understand, but he knows facts no one could possibly know.

Not to mention the multiple dodged questions in this thread, answering questions with questions etc... This guy just doesn't have a clue. Gutless little man.

I just can't fathom how the FUCK you guys have been able to carry this on all day...I mean dont you people have jobs? I was up to page 10 on my lunch break and just finished the thread now while im making dinner and polishing off a bottle of cheap nasty white, but seriously, i enjoy this shiot. the only thing i'll add is this;

When movie stars get paid $30 million for a 3 month shoot, obviously they arent getting paid for the work they contributed (the crew or worker bees are the first and last people on set and do all the work and get paid award wages) but obviously a project gets a green light based on the bankability of the stars and in that sense they do "deserve" that paycheck. Tom Hanks said himself that obviously no one is worth that much money, but if he doesnt accept it it will just go to rupert murdoch and he doesnt want that to happen obviously.

Also a director, like spielberg, will draw the multiplex hordes based on his name alone, and for this reason he is paid well and given creative control. One of my favourite american film directors of all time, William Friedkin was one such director. back in the 70's He made the French Connection which took out the best picture oscar, then made The Exorcist which made history. His name meant everything. Then in '78 he made a film called Sorcerer, a truly magnificent gritty, ADULT film noir thriller representitive of that decade (which is why the 70's is my golden age of American cinema), but guess what, it came out the same week as Star Wars. Didnt stand a chance and the 'blockbuster' became the new format for hollywood. Friedkin went on to make flop after flop after flop, with a few bright spots in between (To Live and Die in LA, Jade, Bug, Killer Joe) but do you think the trailers for any of these films say "William Friedkin presents..." no. They ALL and i mean ALL say "From William Friedkin...the director of The Exorcist"!! A film he made 40 years ago.

Point; ed may or may not have been the creative driving force behind it all, but guess what? He still needed people to go out with him and play all the parts in concert he may or may not have written. They are there making all his art look and sound good. And if it was Ed's name that drew hundreds and thousands of people to the concerts then he DID and DOES deserve 99.9% of all the money.

But guess what again. CLEARLY it is not his name that draws or drew people, (as evidenced by his recent solo work), it is the name LIVE. Therefore LIVE deserves all the money. And that means 25%
