It was a very brief interview. They played the first verse and chorus from last nights performance and announced the new single Mystery. Unfortunately they didn't play the new song, and that may not bode well for the song getting picked up.

This totally sucks!

In my locale, the "alternative rock" station has interviewed Ed and Live, but it's the adult contemporary stations that usually play Live songs, unless they are from Throwing Copper or Mental Jewelry.

Given the style and message of the new songs, I think they should perhaps try to market to a few adult contemporary stations... not alternative stations. The ones around here would just make fun of the new stuff.

It totally saddens me to admit this, but I think you’re right. The station that is playing the new stuff here in Denver (Alice 105.9) is a station that aims for a 30-something crowd…not strictly “adult contemporary” (nothing totally geriatric like Kenny G or Michael Bolton), but not exactly rock/alternative, either. It’s geared towards that crowd that remembers what it was like to (and pretends they still can) party the weekend away and go to loud rock concerts, except they now have to worry about things like getting the babysitter home before too late and remembering not to eat spicy food before bed. But for those of us who have been listening since the beginning (and who are about the same age as the guys, themselves), that’s about right… cry.gif

I hear ya.... surrender.gif to growing up. (I don't have kids, though... and don't plan on it, but I do have to worry about the parrots... they are my children. )

I'm trying to think of the stuff they play on stations that play new Live songs... it's mostly a Top 40 type station with some 90s alternative thrown in. Revealing, in a very sad way....
