Seems like they're damned if they do and damned if they don't ... if they hadn't launched the website yet, released the re-records or done the 2 dress rehearsal shows you'd have half the board crying for blood because we've seen NOTHING yet. So they do those things, and people are still saying how long they have to wait.

Yeah the momentum is gone, but there was also no momentum right before all those things happened and then it was suddenly there, so what makes you think that when things are ready to kick into gear again that momentum won't come storming back again?

Funky is right, it shows they're not in it for the money, they're taking their time and they're being measured about it, personally I got so many other things going on in my life and other things to look forward to, I can't really imagine spending time and energy on getting frustrated over this ... we know it will happen, so it'll happen when it happens, and when it does all of this frustration will be a distant memory just like it was the day we were all on the edge of our seats as Dancing Queen tweeted us the live setlist from the York show.

I think that is another good strategy. Wheter you call it a gimick or and angle or whatever. You just described a great one.

It would be amazing if they release a new album like Van Halen did, with Cheetah, Vine Street, Susquehanah, Hold Me Up and any other demos that I have forgotten from the Throwing Copper era, along with a bunch of new songs. Then they try to get as much press as they can that "Live has re-launched with a new lead singer and a new energy, and they are releasing an album on which they have re-recorded a number of previously unreleased gems from the Throwing Copper era as well as some amazing new tracks..." Go on Howard Stern and rock radio and see if they can get into Rolling Stone. Bang! Done. Just like that.

And start blogging on the website. Get some web traffic going there. Post videos from the studio. Do something unique and unexpected. And get some momentum giong and don't lose it.

I want the music to be made however it has to be made.
I'm not talking about the actual making of music.

I'm talking about the planning, release, promoting, touring, selling, playing (as far as when/where goes), destroying my eardrums with said music. do whatever vocal warmups or pot smoking or incense burning or rain dance whatever necessary to make the music.

but before unleashing it to the world, have a plan. a plan that takes FULL advantage of available media, concert venues/locations, tour partners... whatever. just a plan.

Instead of letting all of the opportunities to get great press slide through their fingers.

Agreed 100%. I mean, people shouldn't forget that in addition to all of the real estate investing, music creating, and other general professional stuff they've got going on... they've also got families and their every day life going on at the same time. Just like everybody else. Just because we're not plastered with it 24/7 doesn't mean it isn't there. Trees really do fall in the forest if no one is around to hear it.

I didn't know that Gotye song until I saw you guys writing about it. I have listened about a dozen times in the last few days in an effort to learn to appreciate it. I hate it. I think it's awful.
