Live is on AI likely because, as Your Face Sucks said, Epic/Sony is after money. Of course AI is after money, too, thus the invites to all of the major bands/performers. AI's producers usually try every year for the finale to get high-profile entertainers that are compatible with the finalists. All of the maneuvering by the "powers that be" is the result of Chris mentioning in his AI profile and on the show that his favorite vocalist was Ed. Evidently, according to TV Guide, Ed and Chris spent some time together a week or two ago in LA and I think things just got started then.

Generally the finale is the best show of the season with all of the major acts on board. Problem is that it often highlights the inexperience of the finalists on the show. And, yes, I watch it during the season, but I don't fall for the voting process as I think the show is totally planned out as to who wins and who doesn't.

I posted earlier I am hugely in support of Live being on Idol to increase their fan base and make some $$$$$'s as a result. I was just pointing out that the powers that be have that goal in mind. In my book, there's no harm in that. It is part of our capitalistic society and I, as an entrepreneur, love it!

Initially I was shocked to hear that Live was performing on AI. I admit I like watching the show, but it doesn't seem like the type of show we'd see Live on. Nevertheless, I agree with those that like the fact that this will be good publicity for the band.

And if you know who one of the finalists are, Taylor, you'd know that the average viewer cannot be 13-years-old. I doubt a 13-year-old crowd would vote Taylor as one of the final 2. But that's just my guess.

I wonder if we'll ever get an official update on this or not.
